No one can say with any certainty when you will receive notification. Sometimes you never receive anything snail mail and most times you'll see it on the website. Are you registered at USCIS so you can view all your notifications.

https://www.uscis.gov/tools

Yes, and that's what I've been looking for, is the notification on the website that it was at least received. I know from RFE to NOA2, times can vary quite a bit. Just thought I'd ask at least about the receipt relative to when they receive the RFE in the mail.

EDIT: Well looks I spoke too soon once again. Just got back from lunch and the receipt is there. LOL

Im glad you receive notice so now you can relax for 10 min before embarking on your next expedition.  This whole process is much easier if you sit back and let it unfold naturally.  They have a system, it works and it will answer your one question; approved or not approved.  Just my experience.

I'm in the same boat with lawyer issues. Long story short, our reply to their request that I thought would have been sent over two weeks ago STILL hasn't been sent. My fiancee finally got everything sorted out the way the lawyer wanted last Wednesday. I begged for her to mail the package to USCIS herself because I don't trust him anymore, but she mailed it to him "for him to make sure everything's right"... Her package tracking says it arrived the next day (Thursday) and, as of now, we've gotten NO RESPONSE. Not even saying he received it... he probably hasn't even touched the package yet.

I wish I could somehow tell everyone who's yet to start their K-1 process to stay far far away from lawyers. They don't give a **** about you and will only cause unnecessary delays. Best of luck to you.

Update: He FINALLY got back to her a few minutes ago, by e-mail, after not picking up any calls yesterday or today. Since our notice gave a 30 day limit to respond, they expect to receive it July 26 at the latest. He said he'll mail it next Monday (July 22), 11 days after he received it. Haha... **** my life, man. I am absolutely livid that we're gonna have to worry whether it makes it there on time it or not because of someone who's supposed to be paid to help with the process.

I want to tell her to make the 3 hour drive all the way to his office and take the package from him and mail it herself, but I doubt that's a real possibility...

Wow, such incompetence. If I were in her shoes, I would make that drive if possible and pick it up and mail it myself. It’s kind of cutting it close and iffy based on the lawyer’s history, isn’t it?

If it was me, I would, but she's pretty hardheaded about letting the lawyer do his job unbothered. I had to really press her to make the calls, among other things that I won't get too deep in detail about. I knew we were in for a world of waiting when we had a March 29 NOA1 despite her mailing him the documents in mid-February, but I had no idea it'd get this bad.

If you are getting nowhere with a lawyer,  just say "Your Fired". Its that simple. Now you are in charge. Forget about the money,  its gone but now you can meet deadlines and not be so worried.  Just my 2 cents.

I had to double check and make sure that this wasn't directed towards me.

(as I debate on whether to send another follow-up email to the embassy regarding them scheduling our interview)

Here are the instructions for your embassy. You pay the fee and then schedule the interview yourself. If no slots are available then keep checking as there are cancellations and open dates uploaded.

So I am scratching my head wondering what your issue is as I can see that you sent the documents, now you need to send them the document that you referenced above and wait for them to schedule your appointment. Keep in mind emailing and calling is not going to move you any quicker. The hold up now is they may not have any open slots and when one opens and you are next in line it will be assigned to you. The person that you may speak with if you call or email they are looking at a screen with the open schedule. If not are available they will say so and wish you better luck next time.

Sit back and relax, you'll here from them but not on your timeline but theirs's. Just my experience.

This morning, we got notification that Claudia's passport extension has finally been processed by the Venezuelan government.  She should receive it within the next few weeks.  The timing couldn't be better, because once she leaves Panama, we won't be able to return together for a while.

I can't imagine how precarious this process must've felt for you at times dealing with the Venezuelan government. That place is falling apart. I'd think any paper left in any of their offices would've been raided by now for toilet paper.

I'm going to write a book about our entire experience when this is done.

Her brother has helped us tremendously, along with a friend of a person who we met on VJ.

As a project manager and a deadline driven person, this whole situation has driven me up the wall!

Things have been pretty quiet in here for the past couple of days.  Has anyone received an approval or a response to an RFE?

I sent my RFE response yesterday.  Luckily it was an easy one (I missed a check box when I transferred to the updated form) so I hope we an update within a couple of weeks.
