So every morning I check the USCIS App to see if there were any updates over the night. I then check the informed delivery, which I am not always very hopeful about if the app is not showing anything. This morning I checked the app and saw no updates and then the informed delivery came through. I checked the the informed delivery and saw that there is a letter coming from USCIS! I then decided to check the website just to make sure.....and......WE ARE APPROVED!!! I wanted to let everyone know because this community of Marchies is so helpful if you have not received news yet, true tme...it will come. Thanks Marchies for all your support!

NOA1 March 15

NOA2 June 12

Congrats!  Good to see your postal letter arrived so quickly.   It's strange how things work sometimes :)

Thanks for asking, man. Unfortunately, my lawyer has really been dragging her feet getting our RFE prepared. I'm really mad about it actually. The last thing she was waiting on was an official translation of a piece of our evidence since it was in Turkish. This made sense to me, but it was also supposed to be the last thing they were waiting on and everything else was supposed to be ready. So last Thursday they got the translation finally and I thought, "Okay, they should have it ready to send off by the end of the day or at least by the end of Friday."

Still they haven't sent it off. So I got my RFE two weeks ago, and now it's still with the lawyer and I'm pretty mad about it. I feel sick about it actually.

I've read a lot of people here saying don't even bother with lawyers and I can definitely see why now.

The evidence that was translated was of a hotel receipt during my stay in my fiance's hometown in Turkey. I thought that was some of our best evidence besides my entry visas to Turkey. So waiting for that to be translated was something I was okay to wait for. This morning, the paralegal who usually emails me, said my lawyer is still "reviewing and researching to make sure that the RFE fully responds to USCIS's request" before it is sent in.

I feel like I've really let my fiance down by going through a lawyer to do this. I guess I was so afraid of making mistakes when I did our application that if I didn't get a lawyer to have it done right, and I messed something up, I also would've let my fiance down. So yeah I'm feeling pretty low today. I'm about to call the lawyer's office too because before I've just been politely emailing them.

The trip was great, until i missed my flight and had to deal with that for an extra day... I just wanted to get home to send the divorce decree for the RFE... My lawyer sent it originally though so they lost it. This time i sent copies of mine and my ex wife's so I hope there are no issues. I hate that I am losing time... i really hope it does not take them long... I overnight-ed it so they received it July 11th. I wish they would just open it... see that I have a legitimate divorce decree and approve... You would think they did everything else right?

Sigh

@Elif_and_Greg, a phone call usually gets things moving with Lawyers.  That, and expressing disappointment about the length of time that something is taking.  I hope that he/she gets the ball rolling for you soon (and correctly).

Don't kick yourself for using a lawyer. Your not allow when it comes to the outcome of a visa journey using a lawyer.

You could have used someone who is fluid in both Turkish and English to translate your document(s). Here is how. They do the translation and at the bottom of the document they include this verbiage. That's all.

Just put this statement on it and sign:

CERTIFICATE OF TRANSLATION I, ___________________________, am competent to translate from ________________ into English, and certify that the translation of __________________________________ is true and accurate to the best of my abilities. ______________________________ Signature of Translator Name of Translator Address of Translator ____________________________ Telephone Number of Translator

I called late Friday afternoon but the person I spoke to was less than enthusiastic and said there was nothing she could do.  She also suggested I call again on Monday so I called again this morning.  I spoke to a very nice person who seemed willing to help me out but unfortunately the call disconnected when he put me on hold.  I really just want to know if there is anything I need from her since I leave for China again later this week and I'm not sure if I'll receive the hard copy before I go.  I'll try calling again this afternoon and post any updates.

If it makes you feel any better, I'd rather be in your position, waiting on the government. We kinda expect long waiting periods and unsatisfactory responses from them. I'm still waiting on my lawyer to send in my RFE. Sorry for the delays you're having to go through.

I know people say sometimes here that March filers, and other close months are so lucky because back in the day it was like 6 to 8 months to get an NOA2. That must've been horrible for those people and they have my sympathy. But even then I feel kinda sick that I probably won't get my NOA2 until at least the end of July. Even if my lawyer gets everything sent in tomorrow, they'll receive it a few days later, and then I'll get a receipt, then it could be another 8-20 days for the NOA2.

I'm currently preparing the RFE myself to send in. And tomorrow if my lawyer can't give me a straight answer about when it's done, I'll just send it in myself. So any feedback from any of you for the RFE would be greatly appreciated.

LOL You're a genius. I just got angry at my lawyer and she said she can have it ready today. What a fool I am, honestly.

What's stupid is before they told us they were waiting for the hotel receipt translation. They had the translation since last Thursday. And today my lawyer is like, "Well we just wanna make sure we demonstrate Badoo is not an international marriage broker site so we will send in the TOS of the site."

And I'm thinking....I thought the delay was the hotel receipt translation. And I sent you the Badoo TOS two weeks ago! I just think my lawyer is kind of out of touch with the details of the case which is probably typical since paralegals do most the work. So I'm glad I spoke to my actual lawyer today and demanded answers. It was enlightening as to how aloof she is and now I'm just hoping she files it today like she said she would.

Their isn't any reason that you can't do this going forward. Fire the lawyer and take over. Your more then qualified to handled this on your own. Why continue to take the abuse.

I agree with you. I was preparing the RFE today when I got an email that they sent it off. It's amazing. They wouldn't have probably for days. It's sent. Hopefully they did a good job. And now I'm done with them.

I'm really really hoping the best for you @Elif_and_Greg lawyers are usually more detrimental than not and I'm always  checking up on  everyone still left to be approved.

It's understandable why anyone would like to have a lawyer handle their case, but I think it's time for you take control of the whole situation and from now on, once your fiance is in the U.S. already have all the steps towards AOS locked down.

Fingers crossed for no more RFE's and best of success to you :D

Thank you for the support. Yes, when it comes time later for my wife to do her adjustment of status, I reckon I'll prepare the whole thing myself and probably consult others on here for advice. This is a good community with lots of knowledge and experience.
