(C) I always kind of viewed RFE's that way. Just make sure to address every issue that they touch on. At my job I'm in charge of what they consider complex RFE's that usually come from gathering criminal reports, or proving hardship on the waivers that then need to go through consular processing. Just cover everything, be concise, and be organized. This has never failed me and sometimes I was scared about denials, because sometimes it would involve very late registered birth certificates (they really have issues with that), Adam Walsh Act cases, etc...

However, usually when you answer the RFE you will get a pretty fast response, because you are right they have it on their desk already and reviewing it. Unless, it is a complex issue they will literally just be like it will take some time and hand it over to a supervisor and thats when it can lag, but I think you will be good, but yeah if you can share what they ask for I'm sure people in this community will be able to help you and give suggestions.

Thank you! We are relieved to get news from them, but also frustrated because we were pretty sure we sent everything and more than was necessary. But who knows, maybe they lost something, maybe we forgot to fill something on the form. We are pretty confident it's something simple. Our only concern is when/how we're gonna send it, since my fiancé is not at home and travels for work.

Thanks for the help. We have an unusual situation where my fiancé is travelling for work. Do you know if he can send the things they request from anywhere in the US? Or will they ask us to send a copy of the notification or something that comes with the letter?

He can submit from anywhere. You'll have to follow the instructions from the RFE.

Is it just me or does it seem like things really slowed down this past week in terms of Noa 2 approvals?

seem like or ?? Because I filed in February I don’t know why they just don’t give an update besides “case was received” and then you got people (no offense) in March calling and getting essays on what’s going on with their cases and I’m here practicing patiences

i just got a request for additional evidence notification on the uscis website :( . i thought i did everything correct. i want this process to be completed :cry:

But practice patiences, because you’re getting an opportunity to fix your case meanwhile I’m a February filer whose latest update was “case was received”. Not to sound rude in any type way but be appreciative of your updates :)

youre absolutely right,  you definitely put things into perspective.  i should be happy that they have my application in front of them now. and youre a february filer! I am rooting for you ( along with everyone going through the process) i'll be checking back daily to see if there are updates from you or others.

@Rita Rocha From me experience RFE's always have this line in them that state something like include this letter with your submission. My questions I guess would be if you can't get a hold of the letter how will you know what the RFE is asking for? Usually, my format is something like a cover letter, then the RFE letter they send, and then the evidence requested. A good practice is to  make copies of everything sent. I do it to cover my ground and so I can have evidence of what was submitted. Then we deliver it USPS in those 7.65 dollar flat rate envelopes, which give you tracking numbers, so you can make sure it was delivered before their deadline.

I’m a January filer, I have the interview this Friday, and the USCIS website still shows “case was received”... 😊

March 7th NOA1. Seems like many have got NOA2 already that filed after us. VJ suggests that we should be calling them now. I tried calling but it's just an automated system, I didn't hear any option to actually talk to a person. And the automated system says that you wont get anything from speaking to someone other than the information that you get on the website. How do you get to talk to someone in person...am I missing something?

@Elif_and_Greg, It wouldn't hurt to call them.  Neither website has updated for me, and I haven't received email or text notification either.  I had my best luck calling exactly at 7am CST.

Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,7,9,4,6 then enter receipt number and then press 1.

@Gazzee if you’re able to call at 7am CST, you should get a person quickly.

@Rita Rocha check your inbox.

We can get the letter, his mom is going to get it for us. The only concern is if we need to send it back in the envelope they supposedly send for us to do so.
