I'm actually curious how it looks/is worded on the old website when you get your NOA2. Anyone willing to post a screenshot of their NOA2 update if you're still around in this thread?  You can of course redact the case number. I think I just wanna prepare myself more for what it might say when my own case number is updated.

Thank you, that's exactly what I wanted to see. Cause I wasn't even sure if it would be obvious at a glance or if I had to read carefully some text only to see if it was approved/denied. So this then is what I'll definitely keep an eye out for.

LOL Yeah I guess it's not a big deal to redact your WAC, but I personally would.

We just got a notification for a RFE. At least now we know they touched our case... 😕

Hi Rita,

I'm very scared to receive an RFE, would you care to share what sort of documents do they normally request in RFE notice?

thank you again and good luck

Sure, we just got the notification on the old site, so it's gonna be a few days until we get it in the mail. But there's no reason to be scared... it's better to get a RFE than to get nothing. It means they saw our case :)

Here on VJ they have created a spreadsheet where couples have added their RFE information and it makes for a good primer while you are waiting for your RFE.

Here is the link to the RFE thread:

Here is the link to the actual document in google docs:

The original is the copy you receive in the mail. Read it carefully and answer with what they are asking for. You don't have to do anymore then what is outlined within the RFE. Sign the RFE and make copies of everything you'll put in the return envelope. These copies will remain yours. Seal the envelope and return to the address that is specified in the RFE. Be sure to send it back so that you can trace it. Be sure your response is returned in the allotted time contained within the RFE.

(C) I always kind of viewed RFE's that way. Just make sure to address every issue that they touch on. At my job I'm in charge of what they consider complex RFE's that usually come from gathering criminal reports, or proving hardship on the waivers that then need to go through consular processing. Just cover everything, be concise, and be organized. This has never failed me and sometimes I was scared about denials, because sometimes it would involve very late registered birth certificates (they really have issues with that), Adam Walsh Act cases, etc...

However, usually when you answer the RFE you will get a pretty fast response, because you are right they have it on their desk already and reviewing it. Unless, it is a complex issue they will literally just be like it will take some time and hand it over to a supervisor and thats when it can lag, but I think you will be good, but yeah if you can share what they ask for I'm sure people in this community will be able to help you and give suggestions.

Thanks for the help. We have an unusual situation where my fiancé is travelling for work. Do you know if he can send the things they request from anywhere in the US? Or will they ask us to send a copy of the notification or something that comes with the letter?
