MARCH 2019 I-129F FILERS

Here's some good news.  I was able to order the police certificate from  Venezuela today.  It's good for 6 months.

They only allow it to be ordered on a specific day of the week, and that's based on the last digit of the requestor's Cedula.

I figured I'd order it now, because no one knows when the electricity will go out again, or some other unforeseen issue happens.

You need stuff from Venezuela yet your fiance is in Panama?

I'm not sure, but I think it's required to be provided for every country you have had residency.  I'm guessing she has probably lived there at some point.

Yeah I checked mine first thing this morning, but alas....

Still though, it's not even been 3 months since my NOA1, so I should be more patient. I just check the forum here more on account of some March filers haven gotten their NOA2.

I know the feeling. I check VJ, the mobile app, informed delivery and the new USCIS site everyday as soon as I wake up! Nothing so far... strangely enough the old site shows that they received my petition on the 4th and the new site says they received it on the 7th. In any case, my NOA1 date is listed as the 7th. Seeing all these people get approved with a later NOA1 date makes me jealous but I am happy for them all the same :)

Yeah that's correct. My fiance lives in Australia but still needs to contact the Vietnam DOJ in order to get a copy of her police records. Sadly the Vietnam embassy in Perth couldn't get them for her.

Yes.  She was born in Venezuela and has an expired Venezuela passport.  She went to Panama when ####### hit the fan in Venezuela.  We met while she was in Panama and she has residency there.

She will also need a Panama Police Certificate, but those expire in 30 days, so we have to wait for that.

That's good she got out. But did she get out BEFORE they were eating dogs and flamingos? I knew a woman in Peru talking about how many Venezuelan refugees were flooding into her country. It's a huge problem down there.

Just kidding.  She has been a Panama resident for over 2 years.

As a matter of fact, that's another issue that we are facing.  Her residency card costs $500 US to renew.  It expires in October, so, God willing.......

I'm in a similar situation where the fiance will need a police cert from his home country (Brazil) in addition to current country. I'm just thankful from what I can tell that he only needs a federal police cert and not state since he's been out of the country for over 5 years. I still need to research it a little to be absolutely sure. Need to wait until much closer to the interview for the Brazil police check since those expire within 60 days, I believe.

This thread is also great at reminding me that I really need to double check with him how long he stayed in France during a work visa. From what I can see, a police certificate is required from any country lived in for more than 6 months but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually, correcting myself here. Any country lived in for more than 6 months after the age of 18. ^^

You're very close to the correct answer.  See below for official information and what is required from each country.

Use this link to see what is required to get the Police Clearance for any country that you have lived in since the age of 16 more than 6 months. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html Once you arrive on the landing page look to the left column and chose the first letter in the country's name that you are searching for. Once you land on the page for that country then scroll about 3/4's of the way down till you see "Police, Court, Prison Records".  Select it. Then locate "Police Certificates" which should be the first entry. Then check the availability of getting a PC from that country. If it states "Available: Only if applicant is physically present in the "the country's name". If that is the case then screen shoot the page and print and bring to your interview in the event that you need to prove to the CO that a PC from that country is not available for you to get unless you are physically in the country. That should prevent any problems at the interview.

We have the exact same filing and NOA1 date! Hopefully we all get some good news by next week. Always wondered how each application was treated if not chronologically.....
