Interview on 5/16 and got approved.

When I check on CEAC, the status still says "application received". Is that normal? Is that the correct site to check for the status?

Yes its normal.... mine still showed ready for a few days after the interview and then went to AP for a day then to issued.... Dont worry to much and yes its the correct site!

Ohh and congrats on the approval!!!

Just about everyone goes through this process.  Based on the discussions I had with the case officer he informed me of the steps to complete the processing of your visa:

the first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa

the first ready is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance

the second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork

the second ready is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery

Then "issue" is posted and the visa has left the BIG house to YOUR house.

Once you get that second ready, it should be sent out within a few days, although we received our visa before any of the various websites that allow you to look up the status said that it had been sent out.

I have a little random question I wondered if any one could help with.... the shipping company wants a copy of my visa my package doesn't arrive till monday and obviously I cant open the sealed bit... but they seemed convinced that there is some kind of physical visa before i go that i need to copy and send them. Can anyone please tell me what I will actually receive in the visa package and if there is a physical visa i can copy?

There should be a K-1 visa stamp in your passport. They probably want a scanned copy of that.

@Greenbaum, I was wondering if someone could help me understand this. My fiance went for the interview and they kept the passport saying that he is approved then they gave him section 221g stating it missing certificate of no impediment and after they received the missing document they will Issue the visa. Can someone tell me how long after they received the document it takes for them to issue the visa?

Hello hun, thank you so much. Good luck he will do fine. My fiance will receive the no impediment on Monday or Tuesday and send it off the same day. By the grace of God, we all will do great. Thanks again hun!

Each embassy is different.  Best to ask others from your regional area that question. So look for your subforum from the main page.

Hi everyone

I got an e-mail from the embassy in Bern, Switzerland on May 7.

I'm waiting for the evidence of support documents from my partner and his aunt and uncle (our co-sponser) which I should get within the next week.

Then I also need to do the medical exam and reading through the instructions there is one part that confuses me:

In the checklist it says I need the medical before they give me an interview date, but on the instructions to obtaining the medical exams it says I need to bring my "visa interview letter".

Can I still get the exam done without the interview letter? Or in what  order do I need to do this?

Thanks for your help!

The visa interview letter comes from the embassy with instructions as to what is needed for the interview. I believe what they sent you is the interview letter needed for the medical. Also, you may want to access your country consulate page here on VJ. Just select your "flag" in your profile on the left column and use the page for additional help. https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Switzerland&cty=Bern

Quick I-134 question please.  If you make significantly above the requirement for the support, do you bother listing your real estate information?  If yes, do you need to copy your mortgage information as back up/proof?

I have all supporting information as required by Jamaica (employer letter, tax transcripts and pay stubs) for my income requirement.

Thanks!  June 4 is around the corner

Hi We did list the real estate information as it was part of the form.... but no we didnt need any thing regarding the mortgage information etc... they literally only cared about the tax transcript in my case but we had the employment letter and pay stubs with me
