I tried to file for a case inquiry just now thinking we’re already outside processing time. Looks like my processing time has recently changed from 6-7.5 months to 6-8

months. Now on our 235th day.

Hang in there though it will surely come maybe not quickly as you would like, but you'll get it. You can do this!!!!!

Finally, we got approved!

My fiancé(Petitioner) got the NOA2 mail yesterday. Feel so good.

NOA1 : Nov 1, 2019

NOA2 : Mar 13, 2019

How long does it take to get case number from NVC

I've heard it usually takes 4-8 weeks...

Congrats just a bit longer now!!!! People are getting some action at the 4 week mark mostly.

Still haven’t heard from NVC but they did sent me an email that they still haven’t received our case, trying to be more patient than ever. I think i tend to get more impatient when its getting closer to the end hehe

Does anyone know how long it takes the NVC to generate a case number after they have received the case?  I was told they got my NOA2 on March 18th but do not have a case number so I am just impatient and want to know how long they typically take to do this.  They told me it could take up to 8 weeks from the date they received it, but I am hoping that is just what they tell everyone and it will be faster.

We have seen hours to weeks and some tipping over to a month or so.

After NVC generates my number case, can I complete the DS-160 and schedule the interview, or I have to wait the Packet 3 arrives first?

See below for DS-160 answer. Each embassy is different. Search out your sub-forum by using the tab at the top and choosing "Forums". Go down the page about 3/4 and you will see links for each other. Choose yours and become familiar with those who are processing through your embassy for help.

#Ana1212 i would love to know the answer to your question? Lol!

Once you have your case number you can complete the DS-160. Once you submit the Ds-160 you will have a confirmation page. Print off a copy as you will need it for the interview. I'd advise that you create a PDF file so you can print at will.

You should become familiar with your country's sub-forum here on VJ to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with. This will allow you to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to take at the US Embassy - Brazil.  Sub-forum for Brazil is located here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

This is the Packet 3 (P3) letter from your Embassy.

There is a lot of information on the Embassy for Brazil here https://br.usembassy.gov/visas/frequently-asked-questions-non-immigrant-visas/

A thread were a lot of chatter about the process for the Brazil Embassy and interview

For additional information on the Immigration Visa process and required documents, please refer to your letter or email or visit the Consular Section Website at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-BR/iv/information/iv_overview.

Brazilian Visa applicant(s) under the age of 14 and Non-Brazilian Visa applicants under the age of 14 do not need to appear in person at the Applicant Service Center (ASC) appointment however they must attend in person the Consular Section interview. The parent must bring the minor child's documentation including a printed photo (A 5 x 5 cm (2 x 2 inches) colored printed photo, taken within the last 6 months and with white background. For additional instructions on photo requirement for the US Department of States, please visit https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/photos.html to the Applicant Service Center on behalf of the child.

Just to update everyone got an email from NVC stating that my petition was received at NVC. The time the email was stamped was 9:30pm, 20 March exactly 14 days (10 business days) since my NOA2, my NOA2 was March 6th. They stated that if I did not get any instructions from them in 8 weeks to put in another inquiry, but I am sure it won't take that long. I'll call tomorrow and check on the number. They did not say when they received my petition they just said they recently received it. Hope this information gives you a base line for your petitions.
