Hello,

I lived in the USA for 2 years with a J1 visa. Do I need a police certificate from the USA too?

Thank you!

No. Your background check will be based upon what is outlined in your I-129f application. During that process your record was checked against a US data base hence the reason you are exempt from obtaining a PCC from the USA.

Read "Before Your Interview" step 4 from this link: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/03/Packet4-MTL.pdf

Why July why so far out? Is that what you are wanting?

Well, I was just there in March because at the time we made those plans it was projected that our case would be adjudicated in May/June so we thought we had plenty of time to plan out the next trip to include the interview. WRONG! lol

I also have some issues with work - I won't be able to get any significant time off until after June.

However! I received some great news yesterday that I MIGHT be able to go June 13-16 for the interview and then go back in July/August to bring him back with me. My head is spinning lol.

Packet Sent 10/18

Delivered to Lockbox 10/21

Fee Paid 10/25

NOA1 10/25

She asked a lot of questions about the wedding but i was confident enough to answer them. She also said that our i-129f was approved last year and why am i doing the interview just yesterday haha i thought that would be a problem so i explained and then she keeps on typing and looking on the computer later on she found out uscis made a mistake with the dates. "I got it, they put the wrong date on the approval, everything looks good and i'll suggest for your visa approval" (handed me the 2 pamphlets and explained domestic violence) yey! :)
