What would happen if the approved k1 petition stays in the NVC until its expiration date? And the NVC never assigns the case number and never mails it to the embassy? Has it ever happened to anyone?

You are worrying too much... I understand how frustrating it can be, I'm not a patient nor positive person myself but this never crossed my mind, and trust me, all kinds of werod things did. Like Greenbaum said... I've never ever heard of it happening and I'm positive your case won't be the first one. Keep your head up, it's coming.

 Contact USCIS for a copy.

We have copy of the NOA2. We do not have NVC case number yet. They did receive our case but they just keep it, they don't process it and do not assign any case number to it. As well as they do not send us any letters.

It's now a waiting game.

Say, can you help us out. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Oh we keep calling NVC EVERY week. They keep saying they received our case but have not processed it yet.

yup...thats right.  its a test in patience...its hard  If you look at my timeline...im about 3 days ahead of you....that puts you MAYBE getting your number tomorrow or so. But, as Tuesday is a mail day to embassy not sure if that is what they are doing right now too...and that could delay a few days....who knows...soon soon

I did add the timeline. I don't know how to make it displayed here.

Time line is fine but country to which you will have your interview with is not showing. See how others have a flag for their country. That's what we are trying to achieve. Go back to the red instructions and you should be able to complete your profile. Thanks.

The wonderful thing about VJ there are many here ready to help. In an earlier post a link was given with the requirements/preparations for the interview in the Bahamas. I'll refer you to the link here Fiance visa requirements.pdf  so that you can get familiar with what is ahead and I'm sure it will answer many questions that will come up later.

Link was seen and read, although did not answer exaclty what I was seeking to determinate. Out of an abundance of caution I will go ahead and have my fiance request a Police Clearance from the county I attended University, and lived for more than 1yr. I may not need it but I will still take it along with me to the interview, should they ask.
