Question question...

So we are at the point that ceac states that we are at NVC... ok.

Now the Affidavit of support I-134. Must be mailed to the beneficiary to honor the original signature or can one just scanned a copy and sent to her?

Check the P3 or your subforum for exact instructions.

Also there a version of affidavit of support I-864. I have been reading a bit and notice that this is the version for the AOS, but I saw in a group that a person applying in Mexico got a hold because they need to provide this as well.

I134 is for interview and i864 is for AOS. Stop reading what other embassy require it's not the same for you.

I know the embassies and consulates work all different but just wondering. In a P3 letter that I found from 2016 for Ecuador doesn’t mention the I-864 form.

That's because i864 is not required for the interview.

It didn't ask for any other numbers and the ds-160 asked for my uscis petition number that you received when you filed the petition with us is.

Sorry I was not complete my answer. Yes you can fill out ds160 but you can’t pay or schedule. So in terms of finishing out that step, you can’t until nvc has your number assigned.

Trust the process. Many things lag behind in reporting and therefor not always accurate. Getting on the phone or emailing is a waste of time. Your record is moving along as designed.

That's so true, we never receive any email from them and our case neither was updated in USCIS website. We have requested them more than 4 times and calling how many time I can't remember to update the email, they said yes but nothing happened.

Eventually we got everything by mail (NOA1, NOA2...) and our case status was still case was received.

I think the tracking website only work by luck 😄

Thats why once it gets close to your case number being assigned say after 10 business days at NVC it's worth it to call daily. You never know what happens from day to day at NVC, it's not like USCIS per-say!!!!

Next shipment is April 16th!!!!

@Sarge2155 hi there, I received the case number on Apr 04 and they told me they are processing the background check before shipping it to the embassy. Do you think there will be a possibility that it will be included in the next shipment?😍

Sorry for a dumb question, once we received the NVC case number, do we need to do anything (like submit any document online for approval) or just wait until they forward our case to the embassy? As when i checked my case status, there was an instruction like this (pls see the picture below) which I'm not sure if I need to follow or not.

I did not think that while at NVC they done any kind of background checks maybe you misunderstood them. I was under the impression they looked at your case made sure USCIS done their part assigned your case number then forwarded your case to your respective embassy. That highlighted part in yellow that is for a immigrant visa and does not apply to you. I would suggest you visit the sub forum for your embassy/country as they can tell you more of what you need to do next. Yes there is a good chance your case will ship out on 4/16, but i would call again on Monday to inquire about that background check thing they told you and get clarification. Perhaps you'll get another person that says something completely different.

I got you!

They confused me all them time and unfortunately the representative was a bit rude to me, and I asked her the estimated time for the case to be forward to the embassy, she told me twice that they will run the background check for my fiance and if everything is good they will transfer my case to the embassy.

Will call again on Monday to get it clarified.

And cross all fingers for all of us ;)

Hello everyone,

We received our NOA2 hardcopy on the 21/03 but still no news from NVC..apart from a quick email from them (couple of weeks after updating email address) saying that they will update us when it is sent to embassy.

Do we have to worry?

Thank you!

I'd lay odds that if you call Monday  you might be surprised. Make that call then daily after that if you need to. Let us know  the outcome of your call.
