No it will not count against you. You can delay up to a year BUT you have to convince the embassy to extend your case for 4 more months with a reason. Each embassy is different and yours may look upon this differently, the extension is what I'm referring to.

@msrodriguez I really would like to be there for my fiancees interview to but also due to work and financial reasons I decided it would be best spent to save my time until after she is with me and we get married. I cant get that much time off. You have to weigh what's important for your situation. I'm of the mind with any government entity that you should get it while the getting is good changes could come at ANY time so i would not postpone anything, but that's just my feeling on it.

While it may provide some emotional support to be there while your fiance(e) has his or her interview, it's not required to do so (I wasn't in Moscow for Anastasia's; she was fine). Some consulates may strongly prefer that the USC be there, but it's not usual for this to be the case.

And your fiance(e) will have about six months to come to the US after his or her visa is issued.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your insights. 🙂

Don't do anything in advance until the case is ready at embassy and the embassy sends you an email to the petitioner to follow these steps for Scheduling interview, Medical exam, police clearance etc. Follow the P3 but do not submit anything if asked until such time as you receive the email from the embassy. Doing so may jeopardize your scheduling of the interview and medical. I have given you a link below for a thread where others are talking about the process for UAE below. Please join the group and participate as you see fit.

We got our NOA2 approved on March 22 - the day my fiance went back to the US after a trip here.

Still waiting for our form to arrive at the NVC, he called yesterday and they haven't received it yet. 😢

I am in the same situation, let me know when you have an update! Good luck!

For packages sent electronically to embassy, do they also follow the shipment schedule?

Yes and no. There are two embassies that work from only the electronic version all others use electronic followed by the paper and those embassy do not want you interview till the record is set to ready.

Aww what a little sweetie! Hopefully the journey goes smoothly for both of you. Its a shame about your other dogs, but I'm sure they'll be happy with your mum!

I'm transporting my yellow lab. However we had to opt out of flying as she's epileptic, so instead she's going on a cruise with my fiancée at the end of April haha.
