So here's a question for you, @Greenbaum & @Sarge2155

I was just in the DR with my fiance at the end of February/beginning of March. We didn't expect to receive our NOA2 until June or so at the time we made our plans.  I will not be able to return until July. Money is a factor, but work is also a factor. There is zero chance of me using any vacation time in June and May is coming up too fast. Do you think it would count against us if we delay the interview until July?

No it will not count against you. You can delay up to a year BUT you have to convince the embassy to extend your case for 4 more months with a reason. Each embassy is different and yours may look upon this differently, the extension is what I'm referring to.

While it may provide some emotional support to be there while your fiance(e) has his or her interview, it's not required to do so (I wasn't in Moscow for Anastasia's; she was fine). Some consulates may strongly prefer that the USC be there, but it's not usual for this to be the case.

And your fiance(e) will have about six months to come to the US after his or her visa is issued.

The letter from NVC for the Philippines is not that important. You need the Embassy Eligibility letter to complete your medical. Further information can be found in the links below. Best place to ask questions about the Philippines process is in the sub-forum for the PI. Link is below. Also, Hank's has a website with all current information and forms and what to do. Also, that link is below. Good luck.

This letter has worked for others to correct errors or for missing documentation or errors that you would like to update, correct or add.

Additional information can be found here:

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

Thanks for this @Greenbaum 😊 i check my case status but still at nvc..

Just an update for anyone else who has not received their case number yet.

My fiancée called NVC and we've been assigned a case number on the 2nd of April. Our Noa2 is 15th March, so if you're around the same date, it's worth to drop them a call soon! 😊

We also have our case number. We received our noa 2 march 11 then we call nvc march 30 and gave us our mnl case number and invoice id.. 😊

It will remain at NVC till 4/16 when it ships out. No need to call as on that day you check CEAC about mid=morning US time and you should see in transit. Read the first post on the first page for additional information.

Be careful with your assessment, not all visas' are issued with a 6 month validity as most are based on the medical date and not the interview/visa issuance. :D

Yeah; I guess I'm used to thinking everyone's medical will be really close to their interview because

1) Anastasia's was and

2) It usually doesn't make much sense to get your medical too far in advance of your interview, especially if going wherever you have to for your medical is going to require travel (it's usually easier to do things in one trip if it's not reasonable to go to the medical location and back in one day).

Exactly my fiancee is doing her medical a few days before her interview also and she does have to travel a good ways to get to Manila.

So right you are. BUT, you have been here long enough that there is a group who process calmly and they have a tendency to mimic your observation and then there are the :girlwerewolf2xn: who are chasing their tails.. I knew you knew but with anything on here your going to hear "Well @DaveAndAnastasia said this or that could be done".

@msrodriguez I really would like to be there for my fiancees interview to but also due to work and financial reasons I decided it would be best spent to save my time until after she is with me and we get married. I cant get that much time off. You have to weigh what's important for your situation. I'm of the mind with any government entity that you should get it while the getting is good changes could come at ANY time so i would not postpone anything, but that's just my feeling on it.

We got our NOA2 approved on March 22 - the day my fiance went back to the US after a trip here.

Still waiting for our form to arrive at the NVC, he called yesterday and they haven't received it yet. 😢
