Hey can you share with us the email that you used?

It was very short and to the point and they did respond once they assigned my case number, but I had already obtained the number by calling.

Subject Line: USCIS Receipt Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxx

To: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

To Whom It May Concern,

I am sending you this email because I was not able to use the on line inquiry form on your website because it would not take the principal applicant's birthday. I am providing the information exactly as requested on your inquiry form. I am requesting that once you assign the NVC case number to my case that I be notified via email.

Regards,

XXXXXXXXXXX

USCIS Receipt Number: xxxxxxxxxxx

Principal Applicant's Full Name: xxxxxxxxx

Principal Applicant's Date of Birth: xxxxxxxxxxx

Petitioner's Full Name: xxxxxxxxx

Please update my NVC file with the following email addresses:

Petitioner's email: xxxxxxxxxxx

Principal Applicant's email: xxxxxxxxxx

4 years, 11 months, 2 weeks and 3 days

Citizenship Complete!

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me with a small issue I've encountered whilst trying to contact NVC via the online form.

Everytime I fill in the form I get an 'invalid date of birth' code. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if anyone else had this issue?

Thank you in advance guys 😊

Yeah happened to me too. What i did, I just entered the current date but on the note I specified and wrote the correct principal's DOB and I mentioned that their system is buggy. :) They replied after a week. but currently they don't have our file yet.

Never thought about doing it that way, but yes that is a good way too!

my case was shipped to GUZ today. Got an email from NVC.

The status is READY,  what does it mean?

Hello, It means that the embassy has received your application. You are all set to book your interview and prepare everything for it.

Please update your timeline 😊

I'm assuming his/her embassy is China. If so they do things a little differently there, but I can't be sure because he hasn't completed his/her profile.

Cool

We can't really fully help you GZH if you don't help yourself. We need your timeline and your embassy to appear in your profile which is found on the left column. We would like it to look like everyone else's. Here is mine.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

That would awesome. Your farther ahead than I am in the process. I’m still waiting for the NVC to receive my file

The China consulate works a bit different from most. First, they get a electronic file for your case. Second, The GUZ P3 is what prevents people in China from getting a head start, they want the instructions page mailed back with the requested documents. Here is the information with an advace copy of the P3 letter for you to review.

P3 Letter for China:

U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview. K visa applicants will be notified by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview. You cannot schedule your interview appointment till such time as you have been sent the P3 letter from the Embassy and have returned the requested documents.

Here is some help from other members here on VJ:

And the Portal here on VJ for processing in China and what to expect

and the http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp

Don't waste time while you're waiting for P3, complete DS-160 and print confirmation page. Since you are from China go to the 2nd link below and click immigrant to register under K1 visa. After you register and enter info it should be clear on how to pay fee, make sure you print bank deposit slip. Just follow directions under Nonimmigrant Visa, but make sure when you register K1 is under Immigrant Visa.

Directions go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-niv-visaapply.asp

Register(Create Account) https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=China

After you register make sure to choose K1 visa under Immigrant, it wasn't an option for under non-immigrant.

Appreciate the information. Unfortunately my fiancé first entered the US on a J1 visa so she has to wait out her two year rule so we are in no rush. We can’t interview until the two year period is up at the end of September so we’ll be looking for an extension.
