Called NVC and got my case number today. I'm not for sure but it seems like they go (for the most part) in date your case was received at NVC order. Yesterday most everyone that got their number their case was received on 3/19 now today my case was received on 3/20 and I got my case number. Could be a fluke though, not really sure.

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

quick question... having a ditzy moment and read so many different answer I just wanted to get some clarification.

My fiancee is filling in the i-134 at the moment as specifically question

38. I intend do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named inPart 2.

(If you select "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions you intend to make in

Is this applicable i have read it isnt for K1 visa and if it is which to check... intend or do not intend

Thanks

As per a post in the Feb thread, you leave both boxes blank and explain in Part 7: N/A [K1Visa Process for permanent resident.]

Hang in there!! I know it’s hard especially when you see other people getting approved before you but it’s coming!

NOA1 Nov 27th

I called USCIS Tuesday March 19th when I finally got through to someone after 35 minutes I asked if anyone has touched my file or if the background checks have been completed. She said no but an officer has it in their queue and I should hear back 15-30 days.

Well on Friday March 22, informed delivery showed an envelope from USICS couldn’t wait to get home. Sure enough that was our NOA2 approval and it was approved Monday March 18. Status update hasn’t changed at all on either websites

i hope this helps!

Do you guys think NVC processing time has picked up at all? I’ve noticed jan and feb NOA2s took around 4-6 weeks some even longer, and then a few NOA2s in March got their case # in roughly about 3 weeks.

Just trying to to get a general idea because I’m going to go visit my fiancé when the embassy sends packet 3 and airplane tickets are ridiculously expensive

Thank you!! Correct me if I'm wrong I don't know if I'm understanding this correctly:

Okay USICS sends approved NOA2 to the NVC, then we call after about two weeks to see if they have received it. Then do we call them back again to find out if they have assigned a case #? And after the case # has been assigned then it's ready to be shipped out to the embassy and all the background checks have been completed?

There's background checks in every stage of the process. Receiving the case number just means that they have received your case and have assigned it to an embassy, but usually if you get that case number before the Wednesday prior to shipment day, you're good to ship the following shipment. In your case since you have your case number already, you have a very good chance to have yours shipped April 2nd.
