This is my first forum question since the start of my visa. I have a question about the approval or denial of an expedite request. So, almost 40 days have passed since I received my letter stating that my expedite was accepted and that I should fax them documentation. I sent the proper documentation on January 27th, 2018. The letter was on January 22nd, 2018. I was told to call them after 30 days if no answer still and the tier 2 officer said that the case was closed on the expedite and I'm trying to figure was it denied? I haven't gotten any paper answer yet. What could "case closed" on the expedite mean?

it takes forever to get in touch with the tier 2 officer. when I finally get them on the phone, my connection is so bad they hang up on me. My case status is that I submitted my petition on December 31st etc.

yes, I've been deployed since July last year. I met, what I now my fiance since I've been here.

so you got an email saying your expedite was approved however you faxed in orders where you are already deployed, and not at risk for being deployed, and you are in the same country with your fiance?

I am not well up on expedites for military, but I thought those only get approved if you have orders to deploy, but since you are already deployed my guess is that you no longer qualify and so it has been closed and your not going to get the expedite.

however I could be wrong.

That was my understanding as well.

if he gets orders to go back to USA, there is no expedite there either, unless onces back in the USA, he gets another military orders to deploy again then he might be able to get an expedite if it hasn't finished by then.

Honestly, that was what I thought too until someone told me to give it a shot. The expedite request was accepted, however, I am just waiting on a decision. It wasn't going to hurt anything to try.

Nothing wrong with trying, and there's no harm in doing so.

I mean, let's face it - deployment expedite means to reunite the soldier and their partner in the US BEFORE the soldier have to leave the country for the deployment.

It doesn't exactly apply in your situation...

K1

29.11.2013 - NoA1

06.02.2014 - NoA2

01.04.2014 - Interview.

AoS

03.2015 - AoS started.

09.2015 - Green Card received.

RoC

24.07.2017 - NoA1.

01.08.2018 - RoC approved.

The expedite rules may not apply to you, but if I were you I'd call.  A lot.  The worst that can happen is that they'd say no to the expedite request.

I called a few times before they expedited my case years ago.   The first few times I got the run-around, no real answer.  The last time I finally got in touch with someone willing to help.  Once the case was expedited things happened FAST.

As fast as things went, they were just in time because I deployed about a month after she got her 2 year GC.

It seems USCIS employees aren't all on the same page, it's a luck of the draw sometimes on who you talk to.  Sometimes you get the person who will just read verbatim info that you can find on their website, and sometimes you'll get someone that actually wants to help.
