Try to get creative with elements of bona fide relationship / marriage. We don't have a joint lease either (even though she lives with me), so we're looking at things like me learning her native language, texting data/printouts, authorized user on credit cards, beneficiary on retirement accounts, emergency contacts, photos with family, etc.

Ahh okay, so my husband didn’t get his ead just got the interview letter, I’m hoping it’s because our office is faster then most and no other issues.

Lol

I’m checking various field offices and can’t find any downtown Manhattan office. Are you sure? Lol

Yours should be New York City then

Is your case expedited!?! This is amazing! Congrats!

My case status just got updated to "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview". Not sure if my call yesterday helped anything but it's nice and satisfying to see that it actually got updated 👏.

The email also said: "If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours." - So I assume this means it finally went from NBC to my local office? Yay!

The new website is still stuck on case received. EAD/AP still on case received on both sites.

Good news indeed! My case also got "unstuck" soon after my call, but correlation doesn't always mean causation so who knows!

Starting to compile documents for the interview....

Our interview letter states to bring "A completed Affidavit of Support (I-864) with all required evidence, including the following, for each of your sponsors (unless already submitted)

  • Fed Income Tax Returns and W2s, or certified IRS printouts for the most recent tax year;
  • Letters from each current employer, verifying current rate of pay and average weekly hours, and pay stubs for the past 2 months;
  • evidence of your sponsor's US Citizenship

When I filled out the I-864, I only submitted the federal income tax returns and W2s (for the past 3 years). IIRC, the letters from current employer were optional in the instructions (They read: "A copy of your individual federal income tax return, including W2s for the most recent year, or a statement and/or evidence describing why you were not required to file. Also include a copy of each and every Form 1099, Schedule, and any other evidence of reported income. You may submit this information for the most recent three tax years, pay stubs from the most recent six months, and/or a letter from your employer if you believe any of these items will help you qualify.). I'm assuming since we already submitted the I-864 with the I-485 packet with the required documentation, there's nothing else to do but to bring a copy of the entire packet?

Yeah, that’s what we’re doing. Just going to bring a copy of the I-864 packet and the evidence we submitted just in case.
