Hi there..  Sometimes they don't update the website I believe.  We filed in Mar 1 and in Apr 19, I received my EAD (combo card)  but in the website it is still showing case was received. It's okay..  :)

Since I am a glutton for punishment, I decided to check the old egov site today, and it says updated May 6 Ready to Schedule and Interview. Who would have thought, the old site never updated for me during the K1 process.

I’m checking various field offices and can’t find any downtown Manhattan office. Are you sure? Lol

Yours should be New York City then

We filed March 8th, my husband had his fingerprints done in April and our interview is scheduled for this Thursday, May 16th. We were both shocked by the timeline. Hoping it all goes well! We filed with the Detroit, MI office. Our only worry is that we currently don’t live together since I had to transfer for work (I work for the federal government) and he is maintaining his h1b status by working at his firm based in Detroit.

I have a few questions . . . .

1) Can someone point me in the direction of a checklist or something that lists everything I need to prep for the AOS interview? I like to be fully prepared 🙂

I want to make sure I have prepared enough evidence as I have not taken my wife's last name, I do not have insurance, we do not have a joint bank account and nor is my name on the house lease.  We have a joint mobile phone contract, the electricity and internet bills in both names and I have my own bank account though.

2) Can we BOTH attend the interview?

3) Is it possible to request or apply for an i551 stamp whilst waiting for our AP/EAD/AOS to be processed? We would like to travel to Spain and England this summer to do a more formal ceremony with family and friends.

I believe this is an example of Interview letter: LaCSy.jpg

Since your application is "marriage based" it does require both of you to be present for the interview.
Have you consider having your partner get you a credit card / add you as authorized user?
I think you will be fine, I think they understand modern marriages do not always intermingle to the degree they used, which doesn't make them any less real.
I am not sure about I-551 stamp. In most cases, if you are approved, the GC arrives just a few weeks later.
