Noa 1 March 12. WE JUST GOT OUR INTERVIEW DATE FOR JUNE 12th!!!!!

Does anyone know if you are approved residency how fast your resident card comes? Or how fast you can actually start working and traveling? My husbands daughter is graduating at the beginning of July and we need to ve able to travel by then.

Once you have Green Card you should be able to travel internationally and start working legally.

How many days did it take to process your expedite request?

I think it took exactly 30 days from the day we called to receive the "card is in production" update.

Yes my question is how fast after the interview does the green card come.. or is it on the spot.

From what I've read here, it really depends. If you get quick approval (same day, e.g.,) then your card can come within a week or two. There are some cases of people going into a bit of a black box afterwards though and waiting months to hear anything.

Wow did not see this coming but our interview is scheduled already. We dont even have the EAD/AP cards. One problem we had at the biometrics place is they were reluctant to accept my wife's passport as a form of an ID since the names didnt match on the appointment notice. Her name on the notice is her married name but she has no ID yet with her married name. They eventually conceded that as long as we show our marriage cert. they will allow for her fingerprints to be taken which we did. Will we have the same problem at the interview site?

I doubt anyone will be able to tell you for sure. I am guessing you do not have SSN in her new name? Just make sure to bring the marriage certificate with her at the interview, and hope it goes smoothly. Where is your local office, if you don't asking? And grats on getting the appointment!

Going to Charleston SC. We're in Georgia and the marriage certificates dont have the married names reflected on them.

Thank you! Well, not this time, at least not before the interview was scheduled. I didn't get my SSN because my SS office screwed it up, my I-94 was screwed up, we got the RFE... I really did not think I would be getting anything anytime soon - for one because I was lucky with the K1 and  I also thought Texas (El Paso specifically) is slow. The Field Office processing time is between 6.5 and 17 months. I have no idea why it went through so fast. But who knows, I'm still waiting for the letter with the interview date (who knew that checking the mailbox could be such a thrill, right?).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you and your husband hear something soon, especially regarding AP. I have two very sick family members - one of them my dad and besides the fact that I obviously don't want them to die, I don't even want to think about the consequences/decisions I would have to make in case it got to that situation.

I hear you. My husband’s father is terminal as well. Only time will tell. My fingers are crossed. Unfortunately if something happens or if it gets to end of August and he hasn’t gotten the AP yet he will go back. I see no other way. I think you can try to expedite AP if there’s a death in the family, but it’s USCIS...he wouldn’t be in a position to sit around trying to figure it out for a week or two. Anyway, that’s life. Hope your letter comes soon!!

My wife had her biometrics done on 4/25. It's been two weeks, and I still have no updates on the website or texts, no RFE's yet. I believe my local field office is San Bernardino, CA.

I'm in the same boat. Had bio scheduled for 4/21, did early walk in 4/19. Seattle WA local office. No update whatsoever on any of my case statuses, all still "received" or "fingerprint fee received". I fantasize about having the EAD just show up in my mail one day like @Aa & Jj said. Does anyone have an idea of how long biometrics are actually supposed to take to process?

I can tell you that we did walkin on 4/15 for biometrics scheduled for 4/26, and status never changed for us from "Biometrics fee received" until May 8 when it went directly to Case is ready to be scheduled for interview. Never any other updates in the middle. I did call them at some point and spoke with Tier 1, explicitly  complaining "Why is our case not getting updated?" She was able to verbally confirm they received biometrics on 4/16, but could not see anything else. She said she would "make a note about my complaint" I have no idea if that had any impact or not. I was very relieved to see it change though.

Thank you, I've been considering giving them a call and I think I'm going to do it on Monday. Hopefully it'll make a difference. My main concern with that is that they wouldn't be working on the EAD without completing the bio review, which would obviously be tragic.
