Wow! Five weeks?!?! Did they give a reason? Was there an issue? It says online you can contact them after three weeks. The guy at the office said two weeks, so starting exactly two weeks in he was basically camped out at the mailbox every day lol. I think he's just holding on to this as the next step and every day feels like forever. But I hope it's not five weeks! He might cry lol

I applied January 31st for my SS Card and I haven’t received it yet. In the paper they gave me it said 4 weeks but I called and went to the office after 4 weeks and they told me to wait up to 6 weeks... so im hoping it gets before this Friday...

The guy at our office said 4 weeks, and the ones here in Houston are notorious for being slow so I'm actually surprised it was only one week late. Not sure if it's supposed to be faster in your area, but definitely don't delay your application just for the SSN.

It is pretty nice having the SSN tho, so I can see why you'd want it. I've been able to add my husband to my insurance and to my credit cards. Still need to add him to the bank account and to the lease. Also need to look into English classes and driving lessons for him. Mostly now I'm building our evidence of bona fide marriage for the interview and for Removal of Conditions. But it's still not needed for the initial packet. You'll have plenty of time to use it instead to prepare for your interview.

People usually have pretty opposing views on USPS. But I agree with you that if you're living that close, I think USPS should be ok with just tracking. I sent mine via FedEx even though my place is 5hours away from Chicago. I lost packages with my local USPS before so I used FedEx instead. I have each forms and supporting documents in their own folders (I130 and I130A, I765, I864, I485) and the 4 folders and the G1145 form on top of the folders. All of that into in a FedEx mailer. My packets were recieved, check cashed and NOA sent out just fine.

Just make sure you have enough in your credit card so they don't get decline. I am currently here legally as an F1 status aka nonimmigrant student status. So I have to file I130 and I130A. If you're K1, your USC spouse should have filed that when applying for you to be here. The forms you need would be I485, I131 (advance parole), I765 (EAD), and I864 (affidavit of support). Granted if you intend to leave the US during the whole process you can choose to not file I131 or you can always file it later. I choose not to file I131 since I don't have plans to travel in the near future. Then you'll need the text/email notification and the form for your credit card for I485. I don't have my medical exam done yet so I didn't include that in. Usually USCIS will send a notice informing that the packet is missing that form and that I'll have to either send it if RFE ask for it or if I didnt receive RFE to bring it to the interview

That's pretty much more or less what I had. I did apply for work permit, EAD but if you're not planning to work that's ok. At most they'll send you a RFE for 2018 taxes. Maybe explain that you intend to file 2018 taxes in the additional space in your I864 since you have till April to file that. If you guys are married in 2018, maybe consider filing jointly. I got married in October 2018 and we filed jointly so I included that as my latest tax supporting document (the good thing about filing jointly is that we get more refund). We submitted 2018, 2017, 2016 tax transcripts.

Looks good so far. Did you also include the W-2's/1099's for the most recent tax year that you're submitting?

Also, what about your DS-3025? Was your vaccination form filled out completely? If not, you might need to submit an I-693.

SAME! I keep on checking the same papers and documents for two days, I check if its complete and signed and not lacking anything and I know it is complete and comprehensive but I wasn't so sure and I thought, "dang! I should just send this is making me super anxious!" after sending, I felt better.

Hi all! Needing some advice. My husband and I filed my AOS packet (i130, i485, i765, & i131) last month. It arrived at the PO Box on 2/27.  Today makes exactly two weeks and we have not heard anything. Checks have not been cashed, no emails, text, or letters in the mail. I'm really trying to be patient, but getting a little worried after reading both February and March's threads. It seems that most people received something just after a few days. I know everyone's case is different. Am I just being impatient?!

Should I contact someone? If so who?
