Hi,

I'm a bit confused, when filling up the I-765 I gave consent for SSA to issue the Social Security Card.Does that mean when I receive my Green Card,I will also receive the Social security card as well?I tend to believe they are different offices(I maybe wrong) Or

After receiving my green card do I have to go to the SSA office?

After getting SSA, same day, went to SSA office, and asked for restriction to be removed from SSN. The card arrived in the mail 5 (five) days later, same number but restrictive wording removed. Highly recommend just going to SSA office and taking care of things yourself.

You'll have go to the SSA office and submit SS-5: https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf

Does anyone know how well case inquiries are going for the I-765? Filed mine on the 9th and have an expected reply date of October 1st. What exactly are their options for reply? My underlying i-485 just turned ready for interview a week or two ago so I am worried that may cause an issue as well. I want to go start applying for jobs right now but I dont want to get the big middle finger from USCIS again on the 1st...

I am also a concurrent i-130 and i-485 filer, not k-1, if it matters.

Quick question regarding the driver's license.

I got my license with my EAD. The license is obviously only valid for 1 year. Can I go back to the DMV once I get my GC and extend the expiration date of my license?

Yes :)

San Jose Local Field for interview changed from 10 months to 16 months. I really want to change my address to relocate to San Bernardino Office. My husband's parents live there and that is our permanent address. We've been moving apartments here in San Jose. It's 7 months processing based on USCIS webite in San Bernardino but based on VJ data its 150 days. I am on my 6th month of waiting so I guess I have nothing to loose.

Any advice??

Hey Guys, I’m so worried because I’m afraid my lawyer is not competent enough. She said that I don’t need to bring the entire petition to the interview. What do you guys say? What am I supposed to do?

I didn't bring the entire petition and my guy was hardly interested in anything I brought; honestly I feel like he was just humoring us by looking at our trip itineraries and pictures, but I would at least take a copy of the affidavit.

Okay so now that my husband’s EAD shows approved, how long until it’s mailed out? It showed up as new card being produced on 9/19 and case approved on 9/20. We are practically sitting by the mailbox waiting for it 😂😂

Friday or Saturday this week most likely.

Ahhh I totally feel you... My husband and I are living in Anaheim, and our field office is Santa Ana, which has at least 13 months waiting time :( If I live 20 miles away East, my field office is San Bernardino :( Wish we could do something...

I submitted my second round of service requests on September 4th (for both EAD and AP). I got this response on my AP: "Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner. "

This is contradictory to what was sent to the congresswoman's office. My SR for the EAD has been assigned to an officer as of 9/14 and I'm still awaiting a response.

It is also contradictory to the evidence we see on this site, where some who have applied for EAD after March 22nd have already been approved. I guess they generate a response that they think sounds plausible.

My inquiry went in Sept 12th, response deadline October 4th.  Fingers crossed.

first met late 2016, met 13 more times since. Filed i-129 Apr 14th. NOA2 dated Oct 11th.

I am seeing evidence of delayed EAD for San Francisco filers.   Your timeline is similar to mine (first filed I-485/I-131/I-765 with received date of 3/11).    My I-485 was last touched on Aug 12th (status changed to Ready to be scheduled for an Interview) and the I-131 and I-765 have yet to be approved.

Of the handful of San Francisco filers I have located (by reviewing VJ Timelines), they have all taken between 180 to 210 days to receive EAD/AP.   My AP status has been at "Case Received" for 196 days now.   So hopefully my "hunch" is correct and within the next two weeks the waiting will be over.    I did file an online inquiry on 9/6 with a promised response by 9/28.   But no news yet....   Once I know anything, I will share here.
