I took a copy of all the documents and also the originals as was requested on the letter. I didn't print the forms again, only the affidavit of support.

The officer only took the proof of bona fide relationship documents (a few printed facebook posts, our rental lease with both our names, a phone bill, my name on my husband's health and life insurance). All the other documents like marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc he said they already have them all in the file but the letter requests them nonetheless in case any was missing from the petion, got lost, or if they wanted to see the original for some reason. He also wanted to see the photo album we took with wedding photos and other photos in our vacation.

Thank you for explaining, I was also confused about copies/originals :) I hope it’s okay if I ask, did you bring any other evidence of relationship like utility bills, joint bank accounts and so on?

Im so tired of this sh*t, how they can think that it’s normal that’s someone wait that long without working, even the processing time they do not respect it, I know 100 % that I put my birth certificate with a good translation, they still send me an RFE, and this happens to a lot of people, honestly I’m losing hope, I miss my mom a lot in France, what they do it’s not fair, so because we have an RFE we can’t make an inquiry?

And Ready to be scheduled for an Interview, how long it’s take? It is for the green card ? Or for the work and travel, I’m lost

Honestly i see people who are waiting so long, that a shame, courage to everyone

I understand that you are frustrated. My husband has not seen his family in 10 months too and he is fighting depression about it. He really wants to work too and our EAD is scheduled to come end of September so I think that the Green Card will actually beat the EAD in our case. We got our RFIE in April and sent in the documents needed. It stayed RFIE Response Received until July 17 when it changed to Ready to be Scheduled for Interview. On August 9th it changed again to Interview is scheduled. Our interview is Sept 16. I know that this is hard, and I don't really know what to say except you are not alone and we are all here waiting with you. Your new life with your soul mate will be worth it.

They definitely asked me for those and they also kept them! Bring all the ones you have. We brought lease agreement, bank statement and car insurance cards as well as the life insurance beneficiary info

Hello! On the USCIS site the date is March 28, We filed March 29, we got an RFE for my birth certificate, it’s been 2 months since they received our response, my question is Monday can I call for make an inquiry even if i have an RFE

Thank you!

April filer here -- I was in your situation 2 weeks ago. Since 60 days has passed without any update, you can call them to inquire. I called on my 60th day from RFIE Response Received and a Tier 1 confirmed that I can open a service request because it had been 60 days. 9 days later my status updated to Case is Ready. Not sure if the call had anything to do with it but it's worth a try.

As for the birth certificate RFE, I believe something happened on their end because I sent the exact same copy of my BC as the initial submission and they accepted it. 🙄

193 Days in counting and no EAD/AP Combo.

Filed outside of normal time request > 1 month ago.

Talked to Tier 2

Spoke with Congresswoman and Senator, one did not get back to me and the other asked for a disclosure form, which I handed in yesterday.

Nothing....

Interview for GC is next Thursday. Should I even bother chasing up this card any further?

You'll get the GC faster, and you won't even need the EAD/AP after you get the GC approved.
