Hey everybody,

I received the notification yesterday that the EAD card was being prodcued. This would be great, but my interview for the AOS is tomorrow and they say we need to take the EAD/AP card in case we have one. Since the card is being produced but I don't have it yet, will this cause delays on my green card processing? Will they make me go back to deliver the EAD/AP card when it gets home and only then process my green card?

I also received a status update on all my cases that "name was updated", but I didn't request any name change. Does someone knows what this status update means?

Thanks!

If you haven't received your EAD/AP before your interview, then don't worry about it. You will most likely still receive the EAD card and then your green card a little later. Obviously you won't need the EAD card once you get the green card

Tomorrow I'm calling usics again. Two weeks since me service request and nothing yet. 5 days since request to expedite and they haven't even asked for evidence although they said I would have an answer in 5 days. Im so frustrated!! 😭😤 Received date March 22nd and they're now on March 26th!

I wish I could tell you something encouraging. I am in the same boat. PD March 22. The only positive thing that comes to my mind is that the people who shared that they got their EADs this week have been with dates after March 26 and before March 22 (meaning a completely random order). So there is still a chance our EADs come any day now. Do something nice for yourself today and keep your head up, things will get better. I'm a week past when a tier 2 said I'd hear within a week, unless they actually meant a week + 1 day cause they were closed on Monday, but it shouldn't have gotten to this point anyway considering we sent the initial service request back in July! I should call them but I think I woke up with my wife's cold :(. If we haven't heard by the weekend, time to contact congresspeople/senator/ombudsman.

I rang today and my received date is March 25. She said I’m still on the normal processing time and if I don’t hear anything in 3-4 weeks, I should give them a call! She tried to cheer me up by saying congratulations and best wishes on my marriage 🤣

For those who sent in information after receiving an RFE, how long did it take after they received your response until the website updated? They got it yesterday morning according to UPS. I know it’s too soon but this uncertainty is even worse than just hearing nothing!

I filed Feb 28 and had the opportunity to open a service request on July 31 but it was completely ignored. I've filed a second one as of Sept 4. I contacted my congresswoman's office this week who has a case worker who is 'reaching out to USCIS'. My question is should I also reach out to the senator/ombudsman? Or is it redundant/not worth the effort? Thanks!

Not sure whether taking multiple avenues will help or hinder. Perhaps it depends on how your politician feels towards immigrants as to whether they're more helpful or not.

For me, I'm gonna call them soon, if I get a barely-an-answer like I assume I will, them I'm gonna compare the 3 politicians I can ask to see which wil likely help more, or if I should just go straight to the ombudsman.
