Have you had a SSN before? Are you just waiting for a card with a new name or are you waiting for your first ever SSN? 

 

I have a SSN just need a new card with my new married surname and am now concerned that I won’t be able to return to work if my new SSN card hasn’t arrived even if they aren’t going to change my number.

Nope , this would be the first. I checked the box for asking an SSN through the I-765 Form.

So my case was updated online today. INTERVIEW HAS BEEN SCHEDULED on 27th of August. So can anyone please tell me when should I expect my interview to have been scheduled?? Because my wife is travelling for work in September and comes back 27th September. So looks like it is going to be really tight. Also, in case I need to reschedule, how much of wait should I expect? Please help.

You’ll get it soon! I feel like they are trying their best to keep it to the 5.5 months processing time mark.

Not really. I had my AOS updated to ready to schedule for interview since June 18. Didn’t change ever since.

They are talking about the time between "interview was scheduled" and actual interview

Everyone here said you’ll get the letter five days after it updates online. And then the interview will be a month later. For us that was exactly true. Changed on the 20th. Letter came the 26th and interview is 26th of September. It will be close for you!

I got the new card being produced email a few days ago. Then last night another an email saying the application was approved.  Shouldn't that have been done before sending the card? Haha. Then this morning they mailed out the card. Yay!

 

My husband's EAD card is waiting for us in the mailbox, according to the tracking number. It will be nice to come home to after our labor day weekend vacation! Woohoo!
