So I did a request to expedite yesterday but lady on the phone just said to wait for the office to contact me to send in my evidence but said I would have an answer in 5 days. I haven't heard from anyone about sending in my evidence. I'm confused 😂

I am just speculating here but it is possible that since it's time for you to get your EAD anyway, they may just not need your evidence. My point is, you may get the permit within 5 days because it is time, evidence or no evidence. I hope so!

So just did my daily check of the EAD/AP and EAD is still the same but AP has changed to “request for initial evidence was sent.” Any idea what additional evidence they would need for an AP!?!? And after over five months??? And he was already approved for an emergency AP and is out of the country now. So now I’m panicking. Has anyone gotten this for AP??

I got the request for evidence. It says my husband left the country on 8/29 before getting his AP and he needs to send evidence that he is still in the USA. He has an emergency AP and was going to use that to come back. His AOS interview is in a month. I am soooooo confused. I guess we will call!?! Now I’m scared that this will be a problem for his AOS or they won’t let him back in the country???

We tried to put in a request to expedite the AP three times and each time they said someone would contact within 5 days for evidence but we never heard anything.

Hey just for peace of mind,  I travelled back to England on an emergency AP last month and had absolutely no problems.

All I had was my passport with my K1 in it and the emergency AP (the paper with a passport photo and stamp), the CBP officer just looked at it and sent me to a side room to get stamped. The second guy just asked to confirm my birthday and where I live and let me on my way.

It will all be fine so don't stress. I hope you guys enjoy your trip!

When you left with your emergency AP did you get a letter saying you had abandoned your original AP application by leaving the country before it was approved? My husband just got this and not sure what to do. It says he has to show proof he is still in the US or his application is abandoned. And maybe that’s okay since his AOS interview is scheduled for next month but I’m scared!

At this point I would be worried if it is case of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing at USCIS. The emergency AP will probably let him in back into the country, but hopefully they do not cancel his I-485 in the mean time, making you start over. Hope you manage to sort it out!

But you don’t think they would just cancel the interview, would they!?! We did call and he said they obviously don’t know about the emergency AP and to send that in as evidence. But he sounded like he knew nothing. It’s very worrisome. I will send it in when I get back home next week. Until then I guess we just hope we get no more news that they cancel is 485 interview. That would be devastating. I’m so upset.
