I’m done with my interview.

Field office: Pittsburgh PA

PD: 03/06/19

Biometrics: 04/18/19

Case ready to be scheduled: 07/16/19

Interview date: 08/27/19

We got there at 10am, our interview was scheduled for 10:30am. Interviewer called my husband and I in around 10:50am, We took the oath, she captured me and took our photo IDs. She started the i485 questions with me, after that she asked me to step out and asked my husband some questions on the i-130 form, about how we met and when we decided to get married. Then she called me back inside and asked the same questions, she said our responses were the same. We gave her our table if content (15 documents), she took every of our documents. She also told me to identify some people in the pictures and asked were they were taken ( she didn’t take my pictures but made photocopy of them).

In the end she told us she needed to run some last background checks. She gave us the White paper that marked case under review and explained the procedure for removal of conditions. She also said if I’m approved I will get my green card within 2 weeks

She also appreciated that we did a table of content of all our supporting documents, she said it made her work easier. The entire interview lasted for 40 mins and I’m hoping this is the end.

So just did my daily check of the EAD/AP and EAD is still the same but AP has changed to “request for initial evidence was sent.” Any idea what additional evidence they would need for an AP!?!? And after over five months??? And he was already approved for an emergency AP and is out of the country now. So now I’m panicking. Has anyone gotten this for AP??

Yes we asked but they said we could not apply for it because the case was already assigned. That was weeks ago. That’s how we ended up with the emergency AP.

I would think someone stumbled upon it and not bothering to find out whether or not you had been given emergency AP, just went ahead and tried to process the request, which would trigger the RFIE to "prove" that it was an emergency.

I'm sorry I can only imagine how stressful it can be when the agents don't communicate among each other. I hope it's nothing and at worst, a mistake from their system

For my husband's EAD, as soon as his filing date showed up, we submitted an inquiry. The date we'd get a reply by that was mentioned in the confirmation e-mail passed a couple of days ago. What next? Should we call?

Thanks

Just got an e-mail (but no text? Hmm) from USCIS that my husband's EAD has been ordered for production and will be sent out! Such good news. No need for the service inquiry. And it also answers my question about whether or not the RFIE (and getting them the correct birth registration they wanted a month later) reseted the timeline for it.

His OPT expired a few months ago. And while we haven't been hurting financially, it will be good to have him working again!

Good luck to those still waiting. I hope you get your or your spouse's EADs soon

To a few of of you agonizing about a job, it is fairly standard procedure to Expedite EAD under "Severe Financial Loss" category, in vast majority of cases it results in trouble free approval. You already have a job, all you need is a letter from your employer. Same goes for K-1 people who have a job offer. I don't know why some have a huge stigma against expediting, that is what ii is for.

So I got a letter from job about them terminating my employment because of the work permit. I'm also going to use the fact that we're moving into a house in a few weeks and paid a 5000 dollar deposit but if we're not both employed we can't afford the move and will have to break the lease and thus lose our deposit. Do y'all think that would be somewhat sufficient?

So we got our EAD card is being produced update on Monday August 26th. So I guess our combo card will be coming in the mail next week. Our AOS interview is on September 10th. We're very happy everything is moving along but it just seems so pointless. As soon as we got scheduled for an interview, they could've stopped working on our AP/AED and used that time on someone else who doesn't have an interview date yet.
