I just left my current job bc my EAD didn't come in 😭

I had to leave my job in November last year. :( I was interning there on a J1 visa, they offered me a full time position and have even paid for the AOS and a lawyer, but despite having a job offer, the lawyer refuses to expedite the EAD.

Have you tried expediting yours?

11/12/2017 - Entered US on J1
10/18/2018 - Filed AOS at NBC
12/11/2018 - Biometrics
02/28/2019 - USCIS mailed RFIE on I485
05/09/2019 - USCIS received RFIE response
06/11/2019 - USCIS mailed another RFIE on I485
06/19/2019 - USCIS received 2nd RFIE response
07/24/2019 - I485 ready to schedule for interview
01/22/2020 - I485 interview (in San Jose instead of San Francisco)

We didn't and now I already sent in a service request for it. I was wrongly informed by an immigration attorney that my EAD would be extended automatically for 180 days but that extension doesn't apply to the category I was on (opt ead after graduation). I'm gonna call my congressman and see if he can help me. Why did the lawyer refuse to expedite?

Yeah AOS EAD is different from OPT EAD, so it's an initial application, not renewal, so extension doesn't work here :(.

Not sure why he doesn't want to expedite, I've asked multiple times as my wife and I have kept saying "just one more month", "just one more month".

Yeah I found that out but still very annoyed that the immigration lawyer didn't tell me that and gave me false hope. I really really hope that it's a matter of weeks before I can get my job back.

Same here. About to go to work and lose my job 😭😭😭😭😭

I’m sorry to hear that. A May Filer told me that she applied for EAD expedite for financial loss reason and got her EAD already, I was torn between doing that or just wait for my EAD 😑😑😑

Just a reminder who got their EADs and Interviews to please update your timelines.

This will help in Visa journey approval prediction and will somehow relieve those who’s case hasn’t moved (including me) in our anxieties when the heck our approvals will come. Thank you!!!

I may actually call and request an expedite. I can have my boss write a letter that will support financial loss bc of this.

For those of you that have received their interview scheduled letter: what was the return address on the envelope? NBC or local Field office?

Our interview was scheduled a couple days ago, and now on Informed Delivery I see a letter that's coming from the National Benefits Center, not my local Field office. I find this weird because I would think that my local Field office would be the one to send it out, not the NBC

NBC was the return.

Yes, I had issue in the date of birth that they have to fix in the background check.
