It was delivered to someone else.

So your neighbour got it, and USPS guy lied? Congrats! Back to SSA on Monday. And DMV if need it. And maybe reschedule Walgreen interview.
Glad that ended well finally!

We had one in February, responded in May. That was about getting a joint sponsor, and proof in not subject to the 2 year home rule of the J1. Then we had another in June that was for proof of citizenship of our joint sponsor - that one only took 2 days to handle.

oohh they sent you a RFE for proving youre not subject to the 2 year home rule of J1? On your visa did it say you were or were not subject to it?

My husband never got an RFE for his J1 visa. His visa in his passport says hes not subject to it, but after getting an advisory opinion twice, they said he was subject to it. So we scrambled to get the waiver filed. We filed for two waivers because unfortunely my first lawyer was not knowledgable of waivers and we wasted so much money this.

We always wondered if USCIS actually checks those things cuz my first immigration lawyer said nobody checks our files in depth until the interview. so whether my husband had a j1 waiver and was subject to the 2 year requirement or not we would've passed all the steps but get denied at the interview. idk the immigration lawyer honestly was no good in filing our waiver that's why we sought a different lawyer for our NOS waiver. I'm starting to doubt her saying everything passes until the end if you got an RFE to prove you were not subject to the two year requirement.

Our interview is in three weeks and am just trying to figure out what to doo. Thanks a bunch!

Same thing. The only time I sent something to them was when I accidentally  applied to expedite my i485 instead of my i765 ( I wrongly put my receipt notice for i485 and the officer on the phone went ahead to put my application in without objecting). Then they asked me to send my supporting documents, which I did. I thought that was what got me the interview sooner (obviously not because it looks like they are just reviewing the documents I sent since). Hopefully that’s what it is.

My DS2019 specifically says I'm not subject to it, and I assume my visa stamp says it too, probably because I'm British and doing software engineering. I guess in the original submission my lawyer didn't include my DS2019, so we sent it for the RFE. I've not had to deal with waivers so I wouldn't be able to help you there.

11/12/2017 - Entered US on J1
10/18/2018 - Filed AOS at NBC
12/11/2018 - Biometrics
02/28/2019 - USCIS mailed RFIE on I485
05/09/2019 - USCIS received RFIE response
06/11/2019 - USCIS mailed another RFIE on I485
06/19/2019 - USCIS received 2nd RFIE response
07/24/2019 - I485 ready to schedule for interview
01/22/2020 - I485 interview (in San Jose instead of San Francisco)

Oooh thats strange, my husbands visa states he's not subject and his ds2019 says he is and we sent in both. USCIS probs didn't look too much into detail then. Thanks for your quick response!

Astounding. Good to know that USPS won't forward government documents, but they will just stick them in the wrong mailbox.

For proof of current income of the petitioner, do I need to submit both paystubs and employment verification letter? Or is submitting just the paystubs enough?

I came on here today to check for updates from you.  Glad you are sorted.

My biometrics appointment letter was delivered to the next door neighbour - but my lawyer had a copy also.   The only letter that went astray.  I wish USPS would deliver the piles of un-solicited credit card offers to my neighbour instead!!

Right guys?? Unbelievable! A First Priority mail with a $100 insurance on it!

And we get lots of junk mails daily! Thank you. Such a relief by the way. I don’t wish these few days to my worst enemy...
