I've received the 3 hard copies for NOA1 today dated March 14! Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the biometrics letter? Thanks

Not too long. 1 week to 2 weeks. Might be longer this month with the flooding and USPS is getting delayed everywhere. I think I got mine a few days after I received my NOA1 in mail.

Yup I agree. Not having the SSN is probably the bigger hassle, since now is the time to really be preparing your evidence such of bona fide marriage for the eventual interview such as setting up joint accounts, joint lease, etc.....which is impossible to do without the SSN.

I couldn’t get mu SSN either but I’m on my husband account. I just needed a bill on my name and two forms of IDs. And as well they added me in the lease without any trouble I just showed my passport and told them I was foreign and I don’t have a SSN yet.

Yup, even with the SSN it hasn't been easy. My bank won't let me add my husband to my account (or open a joint one) until he has a state ID. I was thinking of going for the state ID tomorrow but they might ask me for the NOA1, which I don't have yet (only have the texts so far). They wouldn't even notarize my affidavit of domestic partnership that I needed to be able to put him on my work insurance without a state ID, but thankfully the UPS store allowed us to (albeit for $12, grrrrrrr. The bank would have been free).

But this is what we all signed up for, and it'll all be worth it once it's all taken care of!

Do you bank with a local bank or a credit union? I find it easier to add names to smaller financial institutions. With regards to SSN, yeah that's a pain in the a**. They usually refused to issue one to you even if you have a stamp on i94 that states you are allowed to work with DHS authorization if you don't have an actual job offer. That's what's happened to me in my first semester when I first come here under F1 student Visa. They refuse to issue me a ssn number unless show proof I'm employed by the school or if I have ead card. I was able to file taxes without an ssn. They'll just issue you itin number.

Yup, I think it sometimes depends on who you're dealing with. This apartment I was applying to insisted they needed my husband's SSN (back when he didn't have one yet) because they needed to run a background check on EVERYONE. Which makes sense in most respects, but fails to take into account immigrants who just got here. So currently I'm in a private lease with a landlord who's more lenient, which works out for us better.

Not really sure if this is required, but is a copy of your K1 Visa page itself included? Also, did you inlcude your DS-3025 for your vaccination records?

**Never mind, just saw your DS-3025 line

Does our local uscis office approve the EAD and AP ?

And I'm guessing the california processes the I-485 ?

Just trying to look up the processing times and I'm not sure which office to look at!

No, the EAD and AP is processed at the National Benefits Center in Missouri. Your closest field office will be the one handling your I-485.

Ugh, figures lol . The banker at mine wouldn't accept my husband's passport. Not sure if she would have accepted a foreign drivers' license for him, but he doesn't have one anyway. And we don't have any bills in his name yet since since they're all under mine (and he can't work yet so it's not like he has anything to contribute). I asked her if the credit card statements with his name on them were enough, but she said no to that too.
