NC is definitely not fast.  Charlotte people are sitting here twiddling their thumbs waiting as well.

Not saying it's fast, just faster. Any wait in this process sucks and feels like forever but the 7-8 months processing time for both NC offices is, from what I've seen on here, among the shorter processing times. Truly hope your case gets processed as quickly as possible :)  However, I was primarily referring to the fact that neither NC office is among those that will be transferring cases to other LFOs to make processing times more equal and that it's the closest state in the DC/MD/VA/PA area that is not affected by this policy

I need help from fellow VJ'ers. I want to expedite my EAD, and I have received my AP with 30 days (without expedition).

First thing, I live in Houston, TX. And my wife lives in Los Angeles (Cal.). My receipt number starts with MSC, and case has already been upto Ready to be scheduled for interview. I want to know my local field office, as I heard it should be closer to the petitioner as in my case would be close to my wife's zip code (correct me if I'm wrong).

Now I do have a job letter, and I as mentioned earlier I want to expedite my EAD. Which field office should be I contacting. And do I really need to involve a congressman to speed up the process. Or I can just put in request through call to the field office.

Thanks in advance.

Field office can be found by putting your zip code of whatever address you put in your AOS application here: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

Expedite requests however, are not processed at your field office. You can just call the USCIS phone number and request an expedite saying you have a job offer letter. There are specific categories under which to file an expedite. The one that most likely applies to you is severe financial loss. They will then email you a request for evidence and a phone number to fax it at. You don't need to involve a congressperson but in my experience, doesn't hurt to do so.

Also, the MSC code simply means that your EAD application is processed at the National Benefits Center (as are all EAD applications for AOS applicants)

I got the update "ready to schedule interview" during the weekend. Indianapolis looks like one of the fast local offices, hope I don't need to wait much longer 😛 if only I got the EAD and AP I wouldn't care.

Got notification that local USCIS field office will be shutting down for walkin and infopass appointments in 2 weeks. I've never used InfoPass, but it is annoying that instead of becoming more transparent, USCIS becoming less so.

You can call them and ask to confirm if they received your biometrics. I called them after 40 days or so after my biometrics to do the same. You have to be very clear though about what you want from them. The first time I called, some lady didn't want to give me any update and talked about something else. Then I called again and directly and clearly asked "Could you confirm if you received my biometrics" and the person told me yes and also when they got it.

As I said it's most likely all ok, but it's nice to hear the update for the piece of mind

Do you have your EAD now with you?

Hello ppl

As a pleasant surprise, last month we got the interview, all went smoothly and residency was approved. About 10 days later the green card arrived by mail. Questions well reasonable. Be advised that your fiance should be aware of the place names in the photos. ;)

Do we have to wait up until the 90 day period to file the petition to remove conditions?
