My husband used to live in Long Island and that is a lot quicker than Manhattan but unfortunately we live in the middle of the city 😢

I'm from Vegas too. My case shows that message since 2nd May. Do you have any idea how long people are usually waiting at Vegas service center? The processing time shows mid December 2017. Which means we have almost 1.5 yrs of wait. I hope they just update slow. And the wait is not that long.

Her brother and father are also in the States and no mention of them, just FYI for those who might find it helpful to know.

 

Questions to me:

1 - When did you get married? (my first marriage)

2 - Did you get your naturalization in city X or was in city Y? (it actually was in city Z - trick question maybe?)

3 - Pointed at my mom in a photo and asked who she was?

4 - Where does she live?

5 - Do I have any children from any previous marriages? 

He was quite impressed by the evidence I had assembled in such a short time frame. (Joint tax return, lease in both of our names, checking and savings accounts' statements and health insurance in both of our names to name a few key evidence of our genuine relationship)

Its my observation only, I cant help but feel that the interview took longer because the IO took his time asking all the questions rather than just asking a handful of them almost as a formality. Maybe it has to do with the new and stricter policies. Our IO was pleasant but he was also straight to the point type. At the end, when he reached for the green labeled stamp as opposed to the red one that was beside it, I was relieved to say the least.

Hey there! I just did some research on that because I had never heard of it (I also previously had an EAD that expired while my AOS is pending) and wanted to make sure you were aware of the limitations to that rule: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/42-automatic-extensions-employment-authorization-documents-eads-certain-circumstances

 

Only some eligibility categories are eligible for that extension and most importantly, the eligibility category that appears on the front of your EAD has to be the same as the category that appears on your I-765 NOA1. If you previously had an EAD based on OPT for example and are adjusting based on marriage AOS, those categories are not the same (at least they're not for me) and therefore make you ineligible for an automatic extension. I would just double check that you meet all the requirements and maybe talk to the lawyer again before you continue working on your current EAD because if it turns out to be unauthorized work that would be a much bigger deal later on. My green card case status just changed to "New card is being produced"  Yay! 🎉🎉🎉 Glad we waited just one day for the decision since our interview!

 

Also, an advice to you - I remembered that the officer yesterday said that when people collect evidence, they should bring something showing for the whole period of marriage, not just grab bills from the counter for a current month. E.g. bring utility bills for all months and not just one recent bill. Every officer is a bit different but this made sense

Congrats! Mine changed from “ready to be scheduled” to “canceled” to “ready to be scheduled” again, but this time starting again from day 1 as opposed to day 58! I think I’ll call and follow up...
