I recieved that notice two weeks ago, a week later it switched to "interview has been scheduled", thats the notice you are waiting for.

 

I got super lucky with my service center being San Bernandino, since apparently they don't have a big backlog.

It also asks for a marriage certificate, we submited an original with the petition, do we need to get another one to bring to the interview?
 

They generally ask for photocopies when filling applications for immigration benefits with USCIS, that's because they are going to keep those documents and will not return it to you. At the time of the interview is when they ask you to bring the originals of those photocopies just for them to have a look (some times they don't even bother). In your case since you submitted the original to them already, you can make that clarification to the officer if you're asked for it and now if you have the chance and time before the interview, try to get a certified copy and bring it to the interview, just to be on the safe side. Hi March filer here, submitted my AOS March 14, did my bio after 3 weeks, then my status changed from fingerprint fee was received to case ready to be scheduled for an interview on May 8th. I haven't heard anything since then.

Hey guys, so we had our interview today. 

 

I think the interview went pretty good. The officer went through our application with us and asked questions to confirm some of the things in it. He asked my husband my date of birth, otherwise most of the questions from the application were directed to me. 

 

Then he asked us about our relationship, how we met and when, when we moved from just dating to a relationship, how and when we got engaged. If my husband met my parents and speaks some of my language since he lived in my home country for a while, some questions about his stay there and when and why he decided to go back to the US. He asked some more details about us but nothing weird or tricky. The whole conversation felt natural, he talked both to me and my husband this whole part of the interview. 

 

He asked about what kind of evidence we brought so I went through all the documents and then through our photo album. As I was showing the evidence I kept asking him if he wants copies for this or that as I thought he may want to keep certain things (like our joint bank account) and others not that much (like a macys bill with my address on it). He just said it’s up to me and that he will make the decision based on these documents after the interview. So I just gave him copies of everything I had, for him to keep, just to be safe. 

I thought we had a lot of evidence and felt good about it but him being kind of vague about what he wants to see and his "show/give me what you have and then I’ll make a decision later” approach made me a bit nervous as I couldn’t tell from his behavior if it was good enough or not.

 

Nevertheless, he was very friendly and smiling the whole time. Explained how the 2 year GC works etc. and that we could either get a request for more evidence in the mail or the actual GC. So now we just have to wait. I’m not surprised as I’ve read that our office sometimes doesn’t give any decision on the spot. Even he said that he never decides on the spot as he doesn't want people to be disappointed if when reviewing the documents later he decides he needs more evidence. At least some sort of indication that everything was fine would be nice though.

 

Our case status changed to "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed" later today. And now we wait again

We were approved today on the spot. Had to bring our own interpreter along. Charleston SC office is well reviewed and it showed. IO was very professional. In all it took 30 minutes max from start to finish. Of course none of any of this would have been possible without  visajourney and it's amazing community support.

I just spoke to an immigration attorney today since I already have a work permit that is about to expire so I was stressing over not being able to come back to work for the new school year. Thankfully all eligible current ead gets automatically extended for 180 days if the renewal hasn't come in by the time the current one expires. I was so relieved about that! Hope you get yours soon!! The attorney also said the current processing time for ead is about 5 months! 🙏🏼🤞🏼

Hi everyone, We filed back in March and have received our NOAs for AOS/EAD/AP a few weeks after. When we check the status of our AOS it still says "Fingerprint Fee Was Received" Our timeline for EAD and AP changed from May/Jun to Sept/Oct. Anyone in the same boat as us? It feels like the finish line keeps moving further and further away. I doubt our AOS will be ready any time soon, the San Francisco office is completely backed up, current processing time is 490 days from Biometrics till decision.

We’ve been together on the same journey from our I-129f, interview, visa approval, and AOS filing 😁
