My I-485 Status went from “fingerprints received” to “Case is ready to be schedule for an interview”. Nothing significant yet but it made me happy somehow they are doing something with my papers.

Yeah, today my case changed to ready for schedule for an interview either. I hope we are having luck and getting interview together soon!

Yes and no. For some people EAD gets updated, for some people it doesn't. As far as I know, they don't update AP after biometrics. For example, my EAD is stuck at case was received. My AOS also never updated after biometrics and then it went straight to "ready to be scheduled for an interview" after 2 months.

 

It's frustrating but just know that lack of an update on the website doesn't mean there's something wrong with your case. It just doesn't get updated for some people sometimes.. If you have doubts about your biometrics being processed right, you can call USCIS and asked them if they can confirm that they received your biometrics. I'd wait at least 30 days though

been  60 days since I  did my biometrics. It is so frustrating.

We were approved today on the spot. Had to bring our own interpreter along. Charleston SC office is well reviewed and it showed. IO was very professional. In all it took 30 minutes max from start to finish. Of course none of any of this would have been possible without  visajourney and it's amazing community support.

You can call them and ask to confirm if they received your biometrics. I called them after 40 days or so after my biometrics to do the same. You have to be very clear though about what you want from them. The first time I called, some lady didn't want to give me any update and talked about something else. Then I called again and directly and clearly asked "Could you confirm if you received my biometrics" and the person told me yes and also when they got it.

As I said it's most likely all ok, but it's nice to hear the update for the piece of mind

That is exactly what I did, with exactly same wording. After they confirmed it, I asked them to take a note that status on the Website is NOT updating for me, she said she would take a note of it. A few days later it is updated to "Ready to Schedule"  It NEVER showed any biometrics status for me. So I have no idea if that helped, or that was natural status change when case was transferred to local field office.

Got my combo EAD and AP card today!!! I can never wait that long to be able to work again so I applied for jobs right after we submitted our AOS application in April. Signed my offer in May and requested to expedite in June. They approved my request on Monday, just 10 days after they received my fax proof of evidence and it's delivered today. Such a relief. Now onto changing my name on SSN, then driver's license then car registration - fun stuff haha!

Can I just look for jobs and if I get an offer I can expedite the EAD? Instead of waiting forever and ever

I believe that is what some folks are doing. No guarantees that you will get expedite approved though.

To USCIS, having a job offer does qualify under the "severe financial loss" reason to expedite. There's no guarantee that they will approve your request but I have followed the EAD expedite thread here and haven't seen one that got denied. Another thing is that they do have 60 days to determine your expedite case as well. Some have been waiting for a few weeks, some like me have been approved earlier. 

But yes, I would rather try then not work at all. I had been a workaholic for as long as I could remember before I filed for AOS so I just had to try.
