Our NOA1 date is September 24th 2018 and no news either. The USCIS expect it to take 5.5-7.5 months to process so before that there ain't much we can do. The date for making an inquery is at the moment July 21th so we'll have to wait a while yet and hope and pray that we'll get the NOA2 soon 😊

Trust me I feel the same most days and ask the same question, but not much we can do right now but wait.  Still about 45 days away from being able to make an official inquiry.

Calling will not do much.  The most it will help is if there has been a recent action (approval, RFE), they might be able to tell you a little ahead of time before it arrives in the mail.  They won't be able to tell you much details but may give you that basic information.  For the most part though they'll just tell you it's still in process and give you the official processing times from the website.  I still call once every few weeks just on the off chance something was mailed recently.

If you look at Igor's List (on the desktop version of the site, go to "Immigration Timelines", then there's a link near the top of the right-hand column), you can see the percentage of timelines here at VJ with a NOA2 is about the same for July, August, and September right now (look at the graph at the top).

So we're not seeing more September (and earlier) filer approvals because almost everyone who's going to be approved and update their timeline here already has been. That doesn't mean everyone has been (as per your cases); one of the first people in the May 2018 thread which turned out being mine still doesn't have NOA2 or even an RFE. But it does mean most of the activity on the I-129F side of the process is with October 2018 filers now.

When you call what number do you call? And what do you ask?

Clogging up their phone lines with inquiries on cases that are still WELL within normal processing time wastes resources.

Idk if the k-1 is still processing at the same pace as it did last year when I filed but I was an end of August 2017 NOA1 and didn’t get NOA2 until end of February. So if your NOA1 is September I wouldn’t expect anything until later this month.

You can not compare every case to another though. Which is why I’ve seen many times people on here getting upset others are approved or RFE’d with NOA1’s after them. There are a lot of factors that go into it. Different officers work at different paces, some cases are more complicated than others, officers go on vacation or could be sick so cases remain untouched, something comes up that they want to check out more or they simply haven’t gotten to your case yet. They try to work in some kind of order but needless to say some cases take more time than others and they aren’t going to hold up cases with later NOAs because a case before it is taking more time. Just relax I’m sure everything will be fine.

It's not; the average NOA1-NOA2 time reported by VJ users has dropped almost two months since peaking at a little under 7 months a couple of times between summer 2017 and summer 2018 (and mostly staying at 6-6.5 months during that period). It started to become noticeable that things were speeding up with May 2018 filers (I definitely expected to be waiting more than 5.5 months for NOA2 when we filed), but every month seems to have moved quicker on average since then.

That's good that it's moving quicker. But still in OPs case there's not much they can do to inquire about it for a couple more months because they are still "within normal processing times".
