Hi,

My son is American citizen and he wanted to sponsor me for Permanent Resident status. At present he is a full time student and have no income. Unfortunately we also don't know anybody who can provide a Joint affidavit of support. In this situation is there any other possible solution. I will highly appreciate if somebody can guide me on this situation.

Regards!

Unfortunately, a new immigrant MUST have a sponsor/joint sponsor  whose current income satisfies the set requirements......

Oh, there is another option, which is assets of the beneficiary. These obviously have to be able to be easily liquidated and the funds be able to be brought to the US on immigration. These must be 5 times the difference between income and poverty guidelines so with zero income it is simply 5x poverty guideline. Assuming only you and your son in the household, that would require appropriate assets of $102875.
