awesome!!

This state is so screwed up. They won't let you buy a car here without a license first. But in order to pass the license driving exam, they want you to practice driving on the car that you'll be driving primarily. Ummm how the heck can I do that if they won't let me buy a car without a license?!!!

That is the same here in Oregon. You have to have both a Social Security Number and an Oregon Driving Licence to buy a car. On paper my wife got the car as she had kept her Oregon licence while living in the UK.

But it is a stupid rule.

We got my 1st eva car yesterday, 6 days after arriving in the states! I dont even have my license yet, but I plan to get it before I get married so I wont be confined to the apartment and pool!!! The sun is shinning here in AZ and I couldnt be happier that I'm finally with Jamal and life can start together again!!!

Congrats if where you are is anything like here without a car you just stuck unless you want to walk. Enjoy your independence and good luck for when you take the test.

If you have a UK licence check with your DMV how long it is valid for. Oregon DMV told me I was ok for 12 months and that took the pressure off to pass the test here.

Welcome and Congrats with your new car, good luck with the driving test, coming from England just have to get use to driving on the other side of the street, the rest is all the same. Specially here it's mostly automatic(standard) no need to worry about shifting gear and so on.
