To get married while there's pending K1 application?!?!

hi everyone,

i saw Island_Princess recent post that she received her I130 & I129F approvals at the same time.

Im just curious....

will it jeopardize or in any way will affect our K1 application if we're planning to get married in the Phils by this coming July?

according to VJ, our NOA2 might be adjucted by July 15,2007.

we just want to have this simple wedding ceremony since both our families are in the Phils. For sure you know how happy it will be - to celebrate this love with close friends & family.

any opinion will be highly appreciated...

Second of all, IF YOU GET MARRIED WHILST A K-1 IS PROCESSING, YOU'RE ABANDONING THE PETITION. Your fiance will then be your spouse, therefore you will have to start all over again with a K-3 or CR-1.

Also, on a K-1 YOU NEED TO GET MARRIED IN THE UNITED STATES

And, please, anyone else with this question who sees this post......if you don't want to wait, then please marry and then file a K-3 or CR-1. If you file a K-1, please follow the rules of the K-1 and stop asking questions like this.

There's a VJ member who rarely posts that filed the K-1, got married, went through with the K-1 interview (last June), told the embassy a couple months after the interview that they were married, filed a K-3 and are still waiting for the K-3 to be approved.... nearly a year later. K-1 will be null if you get married and like others have said, you'll have to start over. It's a fact not an opinion.

You dont need other users to browse or see the thread, your question was answered correctly despite being posted in the wrong forum.

It will get moved to the correct forum by one of the moderators, however the answer to your question will still remain the same.

You cannot marry and still proceed with K1
