Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation

I finally received an email just today "Notice of Immigrant Visa Case Creation"

 

the email gives me the case number/invoice number to log in and start the process to upload docs, pay fees, etc..

 

my question is when i log in it states there is no such case number. why is this? could it be because i just got the email today?

NVC had my case for 11 weeks, because it went to administration processing before they even created the case number. Usually it takes no more than 8 weeks if you are lucky.

Hi, how did you get an email from NVC? my  case recently got approved at USCIS and they are forwarding the case to NVC. Is there someplace on NVC site I can register to receive updates. Thanks.

NOA1: Feb 13 2018

NOA2: Feb 15 2019

NVC Case Number assigned: Apr 3 2019

NVC IV Fees paid: Apr 5 2019

DS-260 filled: Apr 10 2019

IV Docs submitted: Apr 12 2019

IV Docs resubmitted: May 1 2019

Case complete: may 3 2019

Expedite requested: May 15 2019

Expedite approved: May 23 2019

Case sent to Consulate: May 24 2018

Case status Ready: May 28 2019

Interview date: June 20 2019

Interview status: Approved

I called the NVC and provided them with an email address. You can probably do the same thing.

If you provided an email address on the I-130 I believe they take it from that. I put both of my email addresses plus my husbands' on it and the NVC sent the case number to all 3 email addresses. I didn't have to call them to provide them with this info separately.
