Passed Priority Date

I filed I-130 for my Wife last May. Our priority date on NOA1 was May 10th, 2018 and our service center was Nebraska.  When i go to USCIS website and check processing times, the receipt date for case inquiry shows May 11th, 2018. So, just wondering whats going on. I have not received any other communication from USCIS no RFE etc.. my cases status still shows Case Recieved. I have tried calling USCIS but i just wait and wait with no answer. Do you guys recommend just submitting the case inquiry online? Thanks!

i actually just finally got in touch with them over the phone.  The guy at first refused to submit a outside normal processing request, but i was stubborn and said but its past the inquiry date. So he finally submitted a request for me, and gave me a confirmation code, but i did not receive an email confirmation. I told him i didn't receive an email confirmation and he said you have to wait 30 days to hear back either via email or regular mail. Sound weird to me. just wondering if you got a confirmation email, and how long it took to hear back something? thanks again.

Well...the first time submitted an inquiry was through Tier 2 officer...she was really nice and did said by 30th Jan I should receive something..either decision or something else...and I did got an response and it was that the case was under review and wait 60 days for it ...for either decision or either other stuff...this wait is just becoming an nightmare and feels so exhausted with this process...if u had received and email confirmation about the case number then u should get some news sooner...hopefully it is approval and don’t have to wait 60 more days like me..good luck...and pls do let me know when u get any response from USCIS....

Yea.. it is really frustrating. But, i did NOT get a email confirmation. The guy on the phone told me the confirmation code. Just curious when did you submit your request and how long did it take to get a response to wait 60 days after you submitted the request. keep me posted on your status too, and ill let you know as well.

Once I submitted the inquiry...I got the email confirmation right away and then after 15 to 20 days it was on my uscis account that the case was assisting an officer for response and completed ...then in about 5 days I got letter in mail saying to wait 60 days...

hey, so i called USCIS again... waited 2 hours for them to answer to make sure the other guy submitted the service request. The agent told me he did, but the case was still in normal processing because it has not been 10 months. after talking for a few minutes i asked the agent if they can see if my case was at least in review or just pending and collecting dust.. she said hold on let me see.. and low and behold she said the case was approved on Feb 19th and notice has been mailed. no update on either USCIS site, both still just say case was received.

So my husband and I just got approved today, our I-130 approval at TSC after 7 months.  It really ticks me off to see this post, with people waiting since last April at NSC and still getting a runaround, delays, even after an inquiry for outside normal processing time you're getting stalling tactics of 30 days, 60 days, whatever, it's just unfair.  I really feel for all of you guys who are still waiting nearly a year on just the petition approval--this is crazy!  Consider that they take our money the day the petition is filed, yet do almost nothing but let it sit and wait, while they could easily use all of that money to hire more staff, open more centers, whatever.  The whole system is incredibly inefficient and unfair.  All you couples who filed in April or May of last year should be getting adjudicated before us July filers.  There's simply no logic to it all.  The service center assigned should not be so different in terms of processing times, and why does it take 7 months or 11 months when the petition review itself probably only takes a few hours?  So ridiculous!!

Completely agree. And what blows my mind is I guess the previous agent did not even check the case status before submitting the request?? I mean how incompetent are they?

So crazy, their incompetence!  At least TSC sends a text and email notice the day after the petition is approved, saying to check your online account, which was updated with "petition approved."  I can't believe that the different service centers would have different systems for notifying petitioners of the approval of their petitions!  Where is all our money going?  And their comment that "it hasn't been 10 months yet, it's still not past "normal" processing times!!"  So "normal" is 10 months now??  For a few hours to review and adjudicate a petition?  Wow!  I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

The process sucks but each case by itself is treated uniquely from all other cases. My case was approved way after I was outside the processing time @ TSC, so I understand the frustration. Just pray you just is approved with the processing timeframe; just as yourself, there are many cases on VJ that still waiting for approvals from Feb, Mar, Apr 2018 last year. All the best.
