I just got back from the consulate, with no visa :( .

First they asked for my birth certificate, police records, affidavit, etc; then they took my finger prints, they asked me a couple of questions (how did you meet him, what are you planning to do when you get to the states). I signed the ds-156k. I waited for an other hour, finally they called me and said: your visa cant be issued today, we are keeping your passport and we will call you to tell you when you can pick it up.

I am confused, did we get approved or not yet????

Sorry, you didn't get your visa today. When I read your post, it sounded to me like you were approved, and the Embassy will keep your passport, issue the, visa and then contact you to pick up your passport with the visa affixed inside. I remember reading other posts where people were approved but they did not get the visa on the same day as the interview. I would call them an ask if the visa was approved for peace of mind.

Hoping for good news,

-Dodie

Well mmmmmm I think you are approved. I dont think they would have kept your passport if you were denied. This is why I strongly believe you were approved. It makes no sense to me that they would keep your passport if you were denied. In Colombia they keep your passport and give it to you the next day when you are approved.

In some countries they do (keep your passport even if u were denied) buuuuut dnt listen to me, I am the most pesimistic and negative person you could ever meet!!

I called them yesterday and they said they will call me back to tell me when could i pick up my passport, I told the lady i really need it because I was going to France on friday and she said: well if you want it without your visa, you can come and get it. Of course I said no, then i asked, sooooo that means we got approved and she goes: Of course you got approved (she was getting very pissed) hahaha, I can wait to get to Orlando, as soon as i get to the airport I am going to jump on my baby, of course we both are going to fall since i gained 15 pounds of "CSC, NVC and Consulate, stress"
