No it’s agreed as part of the divorce settlement and he pays her directly.

Then tell your husband to reevaluate that because that is WAY too high for child support unless he makes over $100k a year. I know I was paying $2500 a month because I made alittle over $100k a year. That amount is obscene.

Depends on a variety of parameters, including how many children, area of residence, the kids' ages, etc.

the maximum the federal government's involvement in this is they will not issue passports to your spouse/fiancee if it is determined that he owes child support.

Only if the arrears are at least $2,500 will this impact someone's ability to obtain or renew their US passport.

And most likely since she went to human services she may have elected to process payment via the state collection system which requires them to reconcile the account in order to determine current/arrears balances.   Been there,  done that

Exactly this point here as well. I was paying my x-wife child support directly ($2500 a month) then she went to claim food stamps and they filed a case against me. Luckily I kept all my money orders to show that I had been sending her money. The social worker was surprised I kept ALL MY RECEIPTS and in the end apologized for calling me a deadbeat in the beginning.

Child's age not so much but primarily income level and how many children there are. Since I made over $100k with 2 kids I just agreed on $2500 a month because it was about right. That number did not include childcare either which I paid as well.

It was another $1000 a month for 2 kids. One was in preschool the other was in daycare. All the while my x didn't work at all. I ended up getting custody of them and I get no child support.

Scare tactic

Exactly.... The lady at social services told me that they START  with the scare tactics and trying to get liens or paycheck withholdings because they are used to deadbeats all the time. So they are forced to use whatever means necessary.  If you have your ducks in a row with documentation then they are forced to go away.

The county in NC where my x and kids lived contacted LA County to try and get them to take money from my paycheck in the beginning. Even when NC dropped the case LA County forced me to go to their offices another 2 times even though I had paperwork showing everything was dropped and I was awarded full custody. I told them that "if I am forced to come up here again I will take the children in question out of school and bring them here . So that I can prove to you  in personthat I have them".

OP mentioned earlier that he's a doctor so him making over $100k per year is very likely.

Once again OP, this is NOT an issue as far as your visa issuance goes. You seem to be really concerned that it has something to do with your visa but it doesn't.

It still seems very high to say the least especially for Oklahoma.

Agreed just to  get back to my original question if indeed the case has become federal which it appears it may have  could this get my Visa denied.

Guessing nobody actually knows

Were there any questions about child support/alimony payments in your interview?  You said you were 41 days post-interview, what were the questions asked?  Did they look at the affidavit of support?  At the income tax transcripts or tax returns, W2?  Based on the interview you might get some clues as to why the delay and AP, which is unusual for London embassy interviews for a K-1.  More information about your interview might help you get more advice on why the delay has occurred.  Good luck!
