AOS green card interview cancellation for bad weather, rescheduled

I thought I'd post our experience in case others have an AOS interview cancelled and want to know how long it takes for USCIS to reschedule.

Our AOS interview in Milwaukee was scheduled for January 30, 2019, but the office was closed due to the severe cold weather from the polar vortex.  I was hoping USCIS would reschedule us very quickly instead of putting us at the back of the line. Our new interview was re-scheduled for March 18, 2019 , which is 47 days after our original interview date. Not as quick as I would like, but there is nothing we can do.   Eventually we'll get the green card!  This new interview date is more than a year past my wife's overseas medical exam, and I assume that won't be a problem for us.

It shouldn't as long as her DS-3025 was marked complete and she filed AOS within 1 year from medical. You could take a print of this page https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume8-PartB-Chapter3.html to the interview in case the officer tries to RFE you for the medical and tries to tell you that you need the I-693 as proof that USCIS does not require that in your case (as long as you met the 2 requirements mentioned in my first sentence)

Good luck with the interview!

Hey there, I also live in Chicago and my interview was also cancelled. Will we receive a new interview notice? Because I talked to uscis, and they told me because an officer called you, we will not send a notice. Have you gotten any?

Thank you for this information, our interview was supposed to be last week but the office was closed due to weather. Did you call to find out your new interview date or just wait for mail?
