Sounds like that's going WAY too far! Drunks are a pain in the rear but I thought bars were private property because they were owned by someone... they're not on public property until they step out of the front door. Or are they trying to say that it's illegal to be drunk in front of anyone else even if you're not disturbing them? The jails would be overflowing in a week!

Note I am not advocating drinking to excess. I don't drink at all and it's no fun being around drunk people... but adults have the right to make their own choices as long as it doesn't endanger anyone else. Getting drunk at the hotel where you are a guest should not be a crime in a reasonable world.

So, let's see. Does being in a bathroom protect me from getting arrested for violating indecent exposure laws? Or are they gonna start infiltrating bathrooms, too, to snatch people and toss them into jail?

Unless you suddenly decide to dash outside the restroom with pants around your ankles... bathroom is safe.

Sriniv.. it's public drunkeness... a different law. has nothing to do with intent to drive. someone somewhere has a wild hair up their a$$ and decided to make a name for themself andshow constituents they are protecting public safty laws and enforcing them... don't mind that no-one really cares about drunk ppl in public... unless their begging for change, but hey... thats an oversight eh?

How is that different from getting buzzed inside the bar of the very hotel I stay at? The bathroom would seem as public a facility as the bar. I could understand it if they were snatching the people as they exit the establishment. But not inside the establishment. Edited by ET-US2004

" . . . .Beck said. “People walk out into traffic and get run over, people jump off of balconies trying to reach a swimming pool and miss.”

Very lame Beck. Happens every time when people drink at bars: walk into traffic, sudden urge to jump off of balconies. . . . You should never have a bar near a swimming pool / balcony. Whats next Beck? Prohibition in your state?

Abuse of power.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

You dragging others in there with ya? :P

Totally different. Bar might be private establishemnt, but is public place.. bathroom has public access, but is private place. There is a difference as I know you are aware of.

Just because as stated.. someone is making an issue of an old law (public drunkeness), I doubt the could push the indecent exposure part to include public restrooms.. unless you went to womens restroom instead.

Mand: True that is; but I know my limits, and stick to them. I rarely drink as it is.

Most restrooms for the gents lack privacy unless you choose to use a stall while you could just use the urinal. Now, you whip it out at the urinal, privacy cannot be assumed or assured. So, is that indecent exposure?
