Most restrooms for the gents lack privacy unless you choose to use a stall while you could just use the urinal. Now, you whip it out at the urinal, privacy cannot be assumed or assured. So, is that indecent exposure?

I see you do not leave one urinal open between to ensre your fellow man that indeed, you are not gay.

Other than that.. Public restrooms I have used all have the board between them to ensure privacy. Now in Europe I have also used the metal wall ... and even shared a stall with a woman before at a concert... noone thought differently... yet here I guess people are still sheepish about human anatomy. But no... that is not indecent exposure to me. But then, I'm not a cross-speaking lawyer trying to convince that little johnny peeing in the urinal gave Mr Jackson "uneasy" feeling for having the larger wang ... even when it was Mr Jackson doing the looking at a teenager. Nor am I the judge in that scenario.

To you. See, to me, folks getting buzzed in the bar of the hotel where they are staying and not causing any grief beyond getting buzzed should, as far as I am concerned, not be arrested for public intoxication either.

And, if you have been to restrooms with walls between urinals only, then you are frequenting much more fancy and upscale establishments than I have and usually still am frequenting.

If you want to be pre-emptive then follow them to their car and arrest them as they put the key in the ignition.

Why, is it illegal to put the key in the ignition when you're drunk?

in most states, they = operating a motor vehicle.....the point of starting it or even having the keys in the ignition shows in tent

I've 'heard' of people getting DUIs just sitting in the drivers seat with the car off. So I do believe it's illegal.

It's not necessary a bad idea in a sense that there have been way too many accidents because of drunk driving (especially where I come from anyway!) That said, and with all the new ITEC equipment the law enforcement should now have at its disposal to track us down, I'm surprised that they haven't only come with something like that....

Are cops going to "go-go" bars too? That may explain...

This topic makes me feel pretty bad. Texas is known for it's independant way of life and bucking the system when it comes to government laws.

You can ride a motorcycle with no helmet, as long as you have $10,000 health insurance. Yet they can also arrest you for being drunk in a bar? This is something Texans would say could only happen in California. But now it's the Californians who are laughing towards Texans.

In Texas, the police could charge you for public intoxication if you were sitting on your sundeck at your house. As long as it is accessible to the public, the private/public argument is a moot point (which I highly disagree with).

Drinking is a different ball game for a Canadian like myself. Where I'm originally from, you can buy alcohol in any area but not from grocery stores, corner stores etc. Has to be from a liquor store. In Texas they'll sell alcohol at gas stations and grocery stores (although not before noon on Sundays). Yet there are a surprising number of "dry" counties in Texas. Doesn't make much sense to me in this day and age. I mean how hard is it to drive to the next county and buy your alcohol there?

Arresting people for getting drunk at the bar........that's kind of like arresting people for swimming in a pool.

Maybe more like peeing in the pool.

I got arrested for DUI for getting in my car while a police officer pushed my stalled car off the street and into a parking lot. .089% BA by the way. .009% too much.

yes that is true. they have strange laws there. Dallas Country is 1/2 dry. I used to live in the dry half. In garland. I used to drive home on northwest hwy, and they had liquor stores all over the wet side. Also in texas, on Sunday you cant buy any Liquor, beer, wine before 12 noon.

they have so many blue laws.. even for like buying something at kmart or target on a sunday.. you call them up and ask if they can sell this or that kind of product, they say no, but if you go into the store and buy it they will sell it to you..

I had a friend get a DUI and he wasn't even driving. They came his door and arrested him on the word of an eye witness. His friend had actually been driving but wouldn't admit to driving because he had a suspended license. Since my friend was the owner of the car he was arrested. He ended up getting the charges reduced to reckless driving.

Yes, in my opinion that would not be indecent exposure, and I'm sure the law the way it's written would agree, but since it's different state by state.. who knows, maybe you could be. But I doubt that.

Getting busted on an old law the majority of ppl forgot about because it's election year and someone wants to stroke their own ego for "doing public good".... well that's the rub. I think it's a stupid law, but it exists. And how you compare indecent expose to public intoxication... interesting, as the laws define both.

As to my frequenting fancier establishments... Considering even Denny's around here have the wood blocker to keep one from peeping next to you....
