My fiancee got denied twice for a b2 visa in Mexico City. Once June 6th this year and once July 17th this year. First time she had everything in order except she had no money in the bank therefore did not have a bank account. I even had an affidavit of support with over 5 grand notarized for her. One of the first questions the officer asked was 'can i see your bank documentation'. She didn't have it and was denied immediately. We decided to make a second appointment. We got a little more into it and took things to another level. I wired her 3 grand and she opened a bank account with nearly 35 thousand pesos in it and printed the documentation. She transferred her father's apartment into HER name. Her mother has property in the mountains and 10 hectares elsewhere. She transferred both documents into HER name. Then I printed a nicely written invitation letter for her. I copied my parent's driver's licenses on it along with mine and my brothers. In the 4 corners where each driver's license was, we each signed and printed our names. There really wasn't anything else me or her could do except have the President sign an invitation letter. She was denied. Only difference between the second appointment and the first is she spoke with the officer 10 minutes, he held her passport, and kept her in suspense for just over a week before breaking the bad news and mailing back her passport.

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

Mexico doesn't care about letters of invitation. It's all about intent to return and that's based on money -- not recently deposited money - steady, regular income.

http://www.usembassy-mexico.gov/eng/evisas_tourist.html

"United States law specifies that you should prove “that is it reasonable to suppose that you will return to your place of origin once you have completed your trip.†In order to comply with this requirement, it is suggested that you present original documents that support your claim of economic solvency"

Individual applicants must qualify for the visa based on their own qualifications. Unless a citizen or resident of the United States is supporting a petition-based work visa application, or an immigrant visa petition, we recommend that you do not try and assist.

We understand that you may want to help with the visa process. However, it does not help the applicant if you write a letter of invitation or personally guarantee his or her departure from the United States.

it is tough. we invited one of ana's niece's last year to visit. went through all the good stuff. they gave her a temporary travel visa stamp(??? not sure what it was. jsut a stamp in her passport saying she had permission to travell the US of a for 3 monuths). This year we did the same thing but this time the gave her a 5 (or 10, i forget) year b2 travel visa. Oh, and i almost forgot, the point is that she comes from a family with very little resoureces, is a minor so no banking info , let alone real estate. Yet, they gave her a visa. i guess they figured she is a good bet to return to Mexico becuase of her family ties.

sorry I cn't give you advice on how to proceed.

good luck!

Daniel

Damn....and im about to go through the same #######....all this for just a visa...all this stress is killing me...

*sigh*....right now my wife is being pretty ignorant about everything...she seems to think she can just book a date with the travel agency, they'll take her up there...she shows up at the consulate...goes for the interview...gets it,...thats it...really basic...(in her mind)

I know that after getting denied once, it becomes harder for the second time as well...

*SIGH*...wow...im nervous...
