Oh boy. Yes, I thought before that filing was a head-spinner you are right.

I actually have most friends in Vancouver, who would just be thrilled to have me back there, and i don't own anything in Toronto like a house or a car, and I am leaving my present job in 2 days!

Wow if you have no ties to Toronto I would say go for it. If you have friends who would be willing to accomodate you for a month you should be fine and you would not be lying when you say you are moving to Vancouver since you actually will be moving. 5 months as opposed to 1 Month? The choice is clear. :)

I got mine sent to Vancouver. I have no idea how, I live in Ontario! As you can see from my timeline Vancouver has been worlds fast for me... It's going to be well worth the airfare to be in the US by mid June! :)

My K-1 Journey ....

2007

March 1 - Sent I-129F to VSC

March 9 - NOA1 by mail

March 11 - Touched

April 6 - NOA2 by email

April 12 - Received by NVC (Dated April 6th)

April 19 - Received notice from NVC - sent to Vancouver? WHAT? :) CAN IT BE TRUE???

May 4 - Packet 3!! Still from Vancouver!

May 7 - Packet 3 faxed back

May 16 - Medical in Ottawa

May 17 - Packet 4!

June 11 - Interview - APPROVED IN VANCOUVER!

June 16 - Activated visa at Alexandria Bay!

BACK IN THE USSA! ;)

Sept 1 - Wedding in Maryland

Nov 12 - AOS package recieved by USCIS

Nov 30 - NOA

Dec 3 - Received Biometrics Appointment date

Dec 20 - Biometrics Appointment in Baltimore!

Jan 14, 2008 - Case transfered to CSC

Feb 4 - Welcoming letter and AP/arrived!

Feb 6 - Case online - updated - Approval notice sent

Feb 7 - GREEN CARD ARRIVES IN MAIL - Happy dance ensues!! :) :) :) :) :)

2009/2010 - Adjustment of Status (10 year visa)

Dec - Filed I751 (Vermont)

Dec 14th - Received NOA (Conditional residence extended for one year)

Jan 26th - Biometrics in Baltimore

Jan 28th - Touch

April 2 - Approval letter recieved!

June 22 - Still no card... called Vermont Office

June 25 - Email received, card production ordered!

July 9 - GC received in mail!! :)

I feel a bit crazy but we decided. Decided. I am going. Have a place to stay for a while at my friends' and a mailing address. Got a job offer (a short project but it will do for now) from my ex-boyfriend in Vancouver. Cancelled all jobs in Toronto. Got a one-way ticket to Vancouver. My head is still spinning :wacko::wacko::wacko:

Now I have to write to MTL consulate, but I just changed my local mailing address with them yesterday. If I change it again today they will probably think I am kidding them. Maybe I should wait a week or so? I will be there in Vancouver by that time.

Job my ex boyfriend!! I see a new episode of Springer coming up!! lol Hope it all works out.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I would call Vancouver and email them to transfer your case ASAP. CC: Montreal on the email. Montreal won't care what your address is since your Packet 3 will get sent out by Vancouver when they receive your case from Montreal (will take about a week or so when Montreal sends it out).

Thanks for your advice Misa, thanks Tinker. I will email them.

So I should ask Vancouver to what? accept my file? transfer my file from MTL? Or should I ask MTL to trasfer it to Van? Hopefully they won't mind too much to transfer.

I don't know what Springer means but don't worry about my ex:) We are old good friends.

You need to talk to both of them. Montreal will only transfer your file upon Vancouver's approval. E-mail them both in the same email so that everyone's in the loop.

You do not know Jerry Springer!! Its a very pathetic show!!,lol Hard to belive he was actually mayor of a big USA city, think it was cleveleand or chicago???
