2019 J1 WAIVER TIMELINE - New Applicants

Hi, all

 

I am applying J1 waiver under NOL basis. DOS received my NOL on 20, Oct. 2019.

Until now it has passed three months (01/15/2020). 

 

Does any one know what should I do ?

So Im applying for the same and they received my NOL on sep 26th. I just got the USCIS letter with the receipt number. Hang in there!!!

How long did they process your application since Sep 26th?  When did they send the FR out?

I sent everything on aug 27th. They posted online that they had everything on sep 26-27th. They sent my FR on Dec 20th and I got the receipt number from USCIS on Jan 8th. No waiver yet, but hopefully soon.

I have pending on DOS for almost three month from 20th OCT 2019.

My NOL was received on November 4 2019. But still waiting for FR. Still waiting. It is frustrating. I dont know why it is taking more time in my case..

Hi guys,

 

I've been posting my own timeline here. I now have a question for a friend of mine. She was with the Fulbright program and has the J1. The DOS took forever to get back to her, and the result is NOT FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION. She hasn't heard anything from the USCIS yet. 

 

Has anyone else here gotten NOT FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION before? What does that mean? What should she expect next? Thank you!

@Max_Marks The DOS received NOS on May 9th. There's also sponsor views request from May until she received NOT FR which is in early January. It's a really long time.

@Max_Marks For my personal timeline, DOS received my NOS on Oct 20th, 2019. I got the FR on January 8, 2020. I've seen other people here got the FR before me even though our NOS was updated around the same time. I guess it could take longer depending on the cases.

Thank you!  I see we are the same day receiving the NOL.  It seems rather random. Some people get FR very quick

@Max_Marks I believe her funding was from her home country. However it was transferred through Institute of International Education which is a US governmental agency. Maybe someone here has gone through Fulbright will know better about this.

Hi, @PK_ I just checked and my case shows "Approved" yay!!!  soooo, happy!!!!

Hi, @Mgj1  any news? Don't panic! 

 

Last night it was pending..... and I just checked and my case shows "Approved" yay!!!  soooo, happy!!!!  

Now I am going to wait for my notice in the mail. Wish you the best and stay positive, it doesn't take that long to have it approved!!
