2019 J1 WAIVER TIMELINE - New Applicants

Hi,

I've currently applied for the waiver based on a NOS from my home country. There was no (US or home) govt. funding involved in my case. I had obtained an advisory opinion earlier which confirmed the reason for my residency requirement being the EV skills list for India. Here's my timeline so far.

I'm in the similar boat here in terms of funding situation. Here's my timeline.

Yes @Abayomi

*My favorable recommendation was sent to USCIS on November 15th

*I got the letter by mail on November 26th

*USCIS received my case on November 21st (but I got the I797-C with my receipt number only on December 4th)

*My waiver was sent on November 26th and I got the I797-A by mail on December 3rd

Good luck with your case!

Can I ask when was your NOS received by DOS? I've been waiting for almost 9 weeks. Also, congrats on getting yours.

May I ask you if the large gap between the dates when the NOS was received and the other documents were received is because you sent the NOS later, or is it that the DOS updated it super late?

I submitted all my documents in the end of June and DOS updated it in July. From July to October, I was waiting on my home country embassy to issue the NOS. My home country approved the NOS on October 2nd. But the DOS didn't update they received the NOS until October 20th. And I've been waiting for the FR since then.

Hi everyone.
I sent all my documents on November 6th and my embassy sent the NoS on October 18th (long before my documents arrived).  However I have not had any updates to the system of receiving any documents.  I also sent an email and got no response.  Someone in the same situation? 😭

I can understand your situation; my NOS was sent to DOS around November 10th (around a week before my application packet reached), yet the status update doesn't show it as "received". Do you think we should resend the NOS from the home-country embassy?

Do your other documents appear as received?  For mine appears absolutely nothing.  I do not know what to do!!

Sharing my timeline to see if anyone else is currently facing similar wait time. My case number is 16415XX

November 5, 2019: Fees money order cashed (was a USPS money order, submitted a "6401 Inquiry" money order enquiry at my local post office, received a copy of the cashed money order a week later).

Currently, there is no information regarding the status of your case. If you would like additional information, please contact Public Inquiries at 212ewaiver@state.gov

I sent an email with all required information to the email address on December 3, 2019, but have not received any response yet.

Does this timeline seem normal? I would at least expect to see that my documents (except the NOC) received since they were delivered over a month ago. Anyone else in similar situation with no updates at all for over a month?

I am getting nervous especially because one of my colleague (same country of origin, employer, visa category etc.) submitted her application on October 4, was showed received online on October 14, NOC received on October 25, favorable recommendation sent on November 16, USCIS final approval received by mail on December 4. With exactly the same case, how does one case get all cleared in 2 months, and another not even marked received for almost 2 months?

If anything, I hope someone else with a similar timeline finds this message reassuring that such delays are normal!!!

I'm in the same situation as yours.  Any news in your case ?

Oh, for me the other documents appeared as "received" 3 weeks after the application reached them.

I am very frustrated with this, as not even the confirmation of the documents... I have received yet.  In your case I would send an email to the embassy of your country asking about NOS
