Curious-how can you check status on the USCIS website if you have not received a receipt notice yet. Would you not need that number to check the status?

Thanks

I'm not sure what happens when you have an attorney representation, but in my past experience, USCIS mails receipts to the current address, not the mailing address.

You can try getting the receipt number and verify your address with the USCIS directly.

  • USCIS - 1-800-375-5283
    • Go to lost receipt number
    • Mention "Vermont Service Center"
    • Mention "Filed I-612 form"

What the filed 1-612 form?

Hi, everyone. Finally this process is over for me. I want to share my timeline:

Sent Package to DOS and my embassy: December 2018

Embassy sent No Objection Letter to DOS: June 20th, 2019. (yes, the embassy of Colombia took more than six months to process this letter. The world's champions of bureaucracy).

DOS favorable recommendation: August 13th.

USICS receipt letter: August 21st.

USICS notice of approval: September 16th.

Good luck to all of you and hope you get good news soon.

hi everybody, my "request sponsor views " was sent at 09/10 (waiver status online),  but i asked my J1 visa sponsor and current employer, they told me they have not received the request yet. i feel so anxious.  does anyone have suggestions with the sponsor request? how long will this step take? and the DOS commonly mail the request to sponsor, or email/fax?

thanks ahead!

Got my USCIS receipt today, it states that they received my documents from DOS on September 11,2019.  Hoping this leg of the journey is very fast.

Anyone knows when USCIS updates their websites and how often they update it?

They are horrible at it sometimes. Some people get updates consistently and right away and others don’t.

My Case status still says “we received your case” even though I have my final approval for more that 2 weeks now.

Which USCIS site do you use to check yours. I read somewhere in this thread that it's more than one sites.
