Hey guys,

My status still shows pending but there is a mail coming from USPS to my mailbox today. I don't know what's inside and I am really apprehensive. The mail is from waiver division. Is it possible to get a mail from waiver division without any update on your status?

Thanks.

Would you mind sharing more details? Do you mean that your status at DOS is showing pending but received mail from DOS? Did you open the mail and find out what it is? My no obligation case has been pending at DOS for almost 7 weeks, and I tried email and fax, still no progress.

My status is still showing pending. The mail I got from DoS last Friday was a notification of receipt of my j1 waiver application and that they are changing my case number. I have never seen anyone on this forum say they received such notification from DoS. I am still anxious.

Thanks for replying. I totally understand your anxiety. I am on the same boat, waiting for this process to be done. Good luck!

Hello everyone,

1. Does anyone know the waiting time from receiving favorable recommendation to getting the receipt for USCIS in the mail?

2. Are there any recent timeline for DOS favorable recommendation to final wavier? Please update if there are any recent USCIS timeline.

Thank you.

Thanks eveyone for sharing your experiences in the process. This forum is helping a lot. I realize I am not alone.

My timeline for J1 no objection waiver is:

- No objection letter petition to my Embassy (Spain): June 15

- No objection letter sent from my Embassy to DOS: July 17

- DOS favorable recommendation: July 30

- Receipt number in my mail: August 7

- USCIS "case received at another USCIS office" since August 8.

No news from USCIS since then.

Still waiting with pills for anxiety. This is an agony!!!

This journey is taking soooo long!!

I am a teacher and a school is waiting for me, I don't know for how long they can be holding the position.

I really hope the waiver is about to come. Crossing my fingers and checking status everyday.

Thank you for your comments and for sharing.

Because I'm government funded, the DOS said Not favorable but the letter says it did. :(

09/03 but I think they expedited because I involved a senator with the DOS

It’s not a mistake. The DOS said that your case wasn’t favorable, but who makes the final decision if the waiver is approved or not is the USCIS, and they waived you!

congrats :)

USCIS has the final say.

Congrats. Lucky you.

I have a huge doubt that it is correct. The letter says "with DOS favorable recommendation" which I don't have. I'm calling them and asking the senator to find out the truth.

But the letter says "with DOS favorable recommendation" which makes no sense.
