I'm so sorry to hear that. My scholarship was fully-funded by a research agency of my home country, but my program took place at a federal agency. I applied for the waiver under the NOS, since the agency that sponsored me issued the non-objection letter to my embassy, but I'm very scared of having my waiver denied as well. I'm waiting for the waiver to adjust my status, and this waiver process is giving me anxiety.

I wish you the best ❤️

I have more than anxiety, high blood pressure, mood swings, headaches and the list continues. I check it daily and my greatest fear is having my waiver denied.

I am sorry to hear, feeling unfavourable will be my outcome too, because my lawyer wrote a simple letter of reason. Sigh.

What did the senator have to do with you getting a favourable response?

All the best.

I contacted the senator cuz it was taking forever. They emailed them couple of times and got a response lol.

Ok I understand now because I was wondering, I am still worried. I am just going to trust the process and try to take it easy.

This two year rule is hanging over my head. Sigh

Hi I can't help checking the updates in this post every other hours. I am seeking for some help now. My case with NOS received on July 22 is still pending at DOS. The school where I got an job offer have to see my J1 wavier before they could do anything about H1B. The offer start date is Sep 1st. Does anyone have experience or thoughts on how to communicate with school or advisers to get H1B petition started while waiting for this? Or is there any other way to work around it? I don't know who else I could ask these questions for considering the unpredictable J1 wavier wait.

For some people in the forum, USCIS part worked so fast that they got final approval within 10-14 days of favorable recommendation! While it’s been exactly two weeks for me today and I don’t have any letter from DoS or USCIS! 😐

I'm in the same boat....32 days since DOS sent my FR...I'm calling every day and still they don't have my file... also wrote emails and nothing, even wrote to DOS asking... please let me know if you receive anything next week (Monday is labour day).  Best of luck

16 weeks is 3ish months and it's been 3 months so email them again (u still have couple more weeks before 16weeks but it makes no sense to take this long unless you have government funding).

Yes, is a lomg time and really frustrating. I emailed them again, let's see what will happen!

Hi everyone,

I got the waiver approved on Friday (after exactly 16 weeks of waiting), and I could see at my USPS account that the DOS letter is arriving today.

What am I supposed to do after this to track it at USCIS?

Thanks

Hi, I think you are referring to yhe Favorable Recomendation by DoS. The waiver is granted by USCIS. Besides the DoS letter, you will received a notice from USCIS (diffent mail) with a case number. You will have to check in their website the status of your case using that number. Good luck!

Hi yes, thanks, I meant the favorable recommendation letter from DOS.

So if I understood right, first I will have a notice letter from USCIS which then will allow me on their website to track the waiver case? How quickly USCIS sends the notice letter?

And just for records in this forum, I was a Fulbright student, didnt use any lawyer in filing my (NOS) case, it took exactly 16 weeks after sponsor views were requested. Happy to share my experience in DM.

Best of luck to everyone who is waiting.

it should be fast, normally in the first week...but unfortunately if you read in the last posts... a lot of us haven't actually received anything from USCIS (my case it's been more than 30 days)...If you don't received it by monday next week I would start calling..Best of luck!
